The lack of air con but exceptional heat ! No where to hang clothes.. lighting could be brighter

We had a lovely Dinner- it was nice to see different desserts rather than the normal sticky toffee pudding you get nowadays. Similarly the breakfast was very tasty- the smoked salmon in the scrambled egg with great seasoning set us up for the day
It wasn’t a real problem but our room was above the television in the bar whilst the England Croatia game was on so we new the score without even watching it😁

Gorgeous little country pub nestled in the centre of Ham, just a stones throw from the village green.
Great pre-arrival communications from Ben, allowing us to drop off our bags early before going on to a family wedding.
The room was spacious, well appointed with a very comfortable bed and pillows. The accommodation had been tastefully modernised. Loved finding the little stack of books and magazines on the bedside tables, ideal for a little read before lights out.
Ben and his team were wonderful hosts. The bar served great beers and Ben was the most hospitable host discussing the history of the pub and the village reputation for poltergeist whilst multi tasking, pulling pints, uncorking wine and serving other customers. This really was a quintessential English country pub. Even the locals joined in the conversation, making us feel really at home.
Breakfast was excellent. We had the full English and salmon with scrambled eggs. Good quality locally sourced food, beautifully prepared and presented. Really filling. On ordering a white coffee it was great to be offered a choice of warm or cold milk which was delivered in a small jug so that you could get the coffee just how you prefer. It's attention to little details like this that really lift a place to to top of the scale.

Small indoor seating for pre-dinner drinks, requiring us to sit at the dining table. Meals pricey. Little clothes storage in the bedrooms.
We loved everything about our stay from the staff, to the room and the charming village of Ham which we enjoyed walking around in and hearing the bird song everywhere.

No wardrobe, just a couple of hangars on s hook on the door. No central light.
