Beautiful pub with rooms, really lovely except the heat!

Lovely room
Lovely tranquil setting

Cons:

Lack of air conditioning or effective fan
Visited during heatwave but room was uncomfortably hot as towel rail in bathroom was on so switched that off but also we think that because kitchen was situated directly under our room, this heated up our room. Not sure what could be done but perhaps contacting us prior to booking to give option of cancelling as it was pretty unbearable night.

A great comfortable stopover near lewes
Pros:

Lovely pub. Great friendly staff. 4 super bedrooms. Fresh milk in room fridge. Good light lunch and breakfast. We will be back.

Beautiful setting, classy pub
Pros:

Great location, excellent food. Staff were great (shout out to Zhenya) Room was lovely, with a big comfy bed, and a nice coffee machine. Bathroom was great. The breakfast was hearty and tasty, with quality ingredients. Thanks f9r a great stay!

Cons:

Room was very hot. A big fan was provided, but still sweltering!

Beautiful quiet small hotel, tucked away in a peaceful rural spot. Excellent service; great food.
Pros:

It’s a nice quiet spot tucked away in the heart of pleasantly rolling countryside. The service was excellent, and the facilities all very good. Good menu, well-presented food - excellent cooking and a good wine list. The room was comfortable; king sized bed; large walk-in shower. It all worked very well.

Cons:

I would have preferred to have been asked about the optional service charge, rather than seen it bob up on the bill. I don’t much like this method of gratuity.
