Charlie and Carlos were helpful and informative.
Room a decent size, though the en-suite was tight quarters.
Easy stroll to anything in Grantham. A few minutes to either the river, or the museum, or the town centre.
Musty odour.
Two long flights of stairs to my room.
A very enjoyable stay. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, great facilities within walking distance.
Will return for sure :)

Although it was an old building the rooms were clean, spacious and modern.
There is no lift. If you had a shower/bath after 10:30am there was no hot water.
Ideal location, clean and friendly.
Very clean, good bed and shower
Realised no evening meal but did expect some breakfast even if continental.
Nothing
Smells awful
We had a large clean room
Location, staff, comfy bed
Asked for a light to be fixed….i think it will still be knackered today.
Location, comfy bed, easy check-in
Dated rooms, expensive breakfast so we didn’t bother.
Nice room, friendly staff.
Water pumps in the walls made noises at all hours
Receptionists very helpfull. .
The bed was really comfortable, bedding was clean and the room appeared really clean and fresh. It was a nice touch having a kettle, two teabags and two satches of coffee to make our mornings a little easier. We were only staying two nights for our trip to Forbidden Forest Festival. We travelled down to stay the night before, with the intention of staying the night after the festival too. The young lady who greeted us on arrival to the hotel on 30/05/2025 was really nice and super helpful, and even gave us recommendations of where to eat (the hotel does not serve food on a weekend other than breakfasts).
The bathroom, although small, was very clean, and water pressure of the shower was good (temperature control was bad).
We had access to extra pillows if we needed them, and we were able to open our windows.
Fire policy is a little peculiar - you are asked to leave your room key number on the front desk so that the staff know you are not in your room in the event of a fire - I can see the logic here but was always a bit wary that other residents would be able tosee you were out of your room - as the key tags are not hidden they are just placed on the top of the counter.
Liked that you had to register your car to the car park to save this being misused by others.
-Car parking! Access to the car park was unclear, we have a big SUV and it was quite a tight alleyway to get down to access the car park. Also the sign for the car park was covered by bins and litter, so my partner had to get out and check we werein the right spot.
-Showers went from freezing cold to scalding hot.
-The location - this is NOT the hotels fault, but something to bear in mind, especially if you are put in one of the road facing rooms. We were in room 6, and on a Friday night, my goodness me it is noisy. The reception is not manned 24 hours a day, so it is difficult to pop down and ask if the bar attendees can be asked to keep the noise down without first contacting the staff remotely - and at 12-1am, you wonder if it is worth it. Our room was directly on the road, and unfortunately, it is where all the smokers and bar drinkers will sit on a warm spring night. We tried to open our windows to let some air into our stiflingly hot room - but were so overcome with smoke fumes and the sound of loud drunk people that we had to close it again. Additionally, it seems the road outside is used by the locals as a 'drag strip' meaning that we struggled to get any sleep at all with various loud cars with modified exhausts whittling past the hotel at all hours of the night. I think we managed 3 hours in total.
-Early check out - we had paid, in full, up front, for two night stay. As a result of the previous nights experience, we decided to check out early on Saturday 31st May. We packed, left the room tidy, packed out our car, and returned to the front desk where we rang the bell to check out. The lady who served us appeared dumbfounded, saracstic, and quite rude that we were leaving early. She did not ask why, she simply looked at us with quite a distained look! Obviously we were leaving for our own reasons and did not feel it was the hotels fault - however having this experience to asking to check out early - I don't regret leaving unfortunately!
Staff were so helpful, making sure I got an early breakfast to start the day.
The landlord was pleasant.
The beds were very uncomfortable and carpets were dirty. The bathroom had no soap at all, and was very bare bones. We could hear the tenants next door far too easily sunday morning.
Very comfortable and clean.
Noise from the main road when windows open {room was at the front} .Not alot you can do on that though.
