Unfortunately the fire alarm went off on one of the nights we stayed through a fault I think . No ones fault and thankfully no fire

Very hard bed, noise from creaky floorboards and adjoining room.
The location it was clean and a lovely room
I was woken at 4.30 by a delivery. There was lots of noise from a lorry unloading and doors opening and closing.

Great looking pub/hotel in a good location
Room 8 is just not suitable for families, just outside is the kitchen staff smokers area therefore the room gets frequent unpleasant fumes. This is the second year running we have stayed here, frequently in the first visit breakfast choices were unavailable, we only attempted breakfast once this visit and 4 out of 5 of us could not have our selected breakfast. This after being woken at 5am by noisy delivery wagon, which obviously didn't deliver food. The day before The Great Yorkshire show and inadequate food availability? I would not recommend staying there which is a shame as it's a nice place. Footnote: we did receive a discount for our issues but its doubtful we will return
