Hotel Review: Novo Hotel Chongqing
Address: Floor 12, Building 1, Area B, Huayubeicheng Zhongyanghui, No. 58 East Section of Taishan Avenue, Yubei District, Chongqing, China
Stay Duration: 6 days / 5 nights
Rate: RM224.00 per night
Dates: 30 April – 5 May
We stayed at Novo Hotel Chongqing during China’s Labour Day holiday, which is one of the busiest travel periods in the country. During this time, hotel rates across the city soared—many doubling or even tripling their usual prices. Considering this, the rate we paid for Novo Hotel was quite reasonable, and overall, we felt it offered great value for money.
The hotel is located between Chongqing city center and the international airport, making it a convenient stop for travelers. It’s just a short walk to several local eateries, a subway station, and the train station—making it easy to explore the city and beyond. Personally, I find any location near a subway station extremely convenient, and this hotel ticked that box perfectly.
The surrounding neighborhood also offered plenty of hidden gems—spots that aren't typically featured on tourist itineraries. We enjoyed wandering the area and discovering local life away from the usual crowds.
Like many hotels in Chongqing, this one was a bit tricky to locate at first. The lobby is situated on the 12th floor of a multi-use building, which houses several different hotels on various floors. This setup is fairly common in the city, but first-time visitors may find it confusing. Fortunately, the friendly locals were more than willing to help us find our way.
Though the hotel doesn’t have an in-house restaurant, the room itself met all our expectations. It was comparable to rooms in three- or even four-star hotels: clean, well-maintained, and fully equipped with a king-size bed, sofa, TV, fridge, window view, and other basic amenities. Housekeeping kept the room tidy throughout our stay, and the staff were consistently polite, helpful, and attentive to our needs.
The signboard is not easy to find. Kindly publish your building photos. People who is unable to read Chinese will have diffiulty to find the location is no English signage is available.
good simple breakfast. tasty sandwiches and noodles. excellent and helpful front desk manager. Good location opposite the metro at railway station. Lots of local restaurants nearby with delicious food. . Room was clean and comfortable. Overall very good value for money
I found the bed too soft for me but I prefer very hard beds.
Nice and homely breakfast -- warm, tastely and light.
Directions to hotel can be clearer.
the room and bed is big and comfortable
Location is very convenient and alot of foods around the hotel.
Metro is very near the hotel. Walkable location
Staff very friendly
The hotel is not easy to locate.
Nice view
Nil
I spent there only one night waiting for my train departure from Chongqing North train station. For this purpose the location was perfect. 5min walking distance to the station.
The lady at the reception was very kind and patient when I had problems with the local payment system. She was understanding and supportive. Good pre-arrival communication. Reception is sending detailed instructions how to use public transport to reach the hotel from the airport. Very helpful.
Not really a minus but personally I had difficulties to find the entrance to the hotel. Just a tip for iphone maps app users: it’s easier to navigate to litian hotel or viena international hotel. It’s the same building (if you stay with your face in front of viena hotel the entrance to novo will be around left corner).

Location
It’s very clean and tidy, and the room is so pretty with different room topics!
It’s very convenient to go to the center of the city because of two metro lines.
The staffs are so friendly, so I’m very grateful.
Nothing.
Great hospitality
It was really close to subway line 10, 3 and staff was friendly. Thank you
Terrible location, on the outskirts and not city center. Hotel entrance is dirty and sketchy, don’t feel safe. People are gambling downstairs, not comfortable for us. Not recommend for tourists since it’s so far away from town and attractions. We originally payed for 3 nights, but left after only one night since we didn’t feel safe.
Good connection with Subway Line 10. Delicious sandwiches for breakfast
The Hotel entrance is a bit confusing
The location was great for us as it was near the train station.
nothing-it was as expected.
Very convenient for Chongqing North station which was my main criteria. Room very good size and clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Not much other facilities at hotel.
