The owner was very welcoming
The host family was very nice. Despite the language barrier, the family and especially Lucas helped us a lot. They helped us organize a tour to Sirena and a snorkeling and diving tour. Both tours were fantastic and everything worked great.
The food at the family restaurant is also very delicious.
The path to the beach is very steep.
As there is almost nothing else around, you will be dependent on the family restaurant for food.
We loved the very remote location, the sunset there is amazing to observe
We had to cross 2 rivers by moto to access, can be dangerous by moto, better if you have a SUV
This hotel is for the traveler that is low maintenance. It is Basic. But, the location is fantastic. It is quiet, peaceful and secluded and has a view worthy of a Million dollars. The owners will make you feel like family. The food is delicious. It’s a short walk to a fabulous beach which has good swimming and feels private even though it’s not. Be sure to take the horse back tour offered by a local farmer. There is lots of wildlife everywhere.
It’s a long drive on gravel roads with two river crossings. It is a challenge to get there, but well worth it in the end. I would not attempt with out 4wd
Lucas greeted my family on the beach upon our arrival from a tour of Corcovado National Park and quickly arranged for a car to drive us the short distance to Bella Vista. He and his extended family were welcoming and cooked hearty meals during our stay. A highlight was his demonstration of making coconut cookies from scratch. Delicious!
We were put in the back rooms behind the kitchen. Instead of listening to the sound of nature we were mostly listening to the sound of staffs' electrónic devices and TV from early morning until the evening. When asked to change rooms, we were turned down. Truly disappointing. Also during the 5 nights we were there the rooms were never once cleaned.
Simple and clean and beautiful viens
Beautiful place to stay in the Osa Peninsula. Quiet and peaceful surrounded by nature.
Amazing sea view & warm hospitality by the whole family !!!
Excellent meals prepared by Chef Olga, the 'ceviche' is one of the best.
Room is too expensive for value!!!
Also road to get to Bella Vista is very rough with two water crossings. Luckily we had rented a 4x4, without impossible to get there!
The food was just delicious, everything was made fresh and we got to taste delicious fruits. Would 100% recommend everyone to eat here, best food I’ve had in CR.
Lucas showed us around the place and new all the trees and birds and animals.
The view is just breathtaking. You want to capture it in a picture, but it’s impossible.
Super small things like a bed light and more hooks for clothes in the room would be nice. Wifi is not really a thing, but that adds to the peace and quite and enjoying the nature in its pure form. Also, take enough cash or make sure you have a paypal account, because you don’t want to save money here.
It's paradise. Very quiet and remote, a lot of birds and stunning sunsets. We were so happy not to be in Drake, but in this magical place in which we felt like at the end of the world. The food is good and the owner has a lot of stories to tell. Spanish very useful. Try to get a room with sea view.
It is a nice accommodation with family atmosphere and friendly stuff. The view point - bella vista - is exeptional. We also enjoyed near beach. It was great to have 1 mile long pacific sandy beach only for ourselves :-) Nice place to rest!
Beautiful view and gardens. Beaches were beautiful and we saw lots of wildlife. 2 regular Tucan's visit in the tree every morning. The Boat ride was great back to Sierpe. Enjoyed the snorkeling tour.
Arranged a shuttle pick up with the hotel from the Drake Bay Airport. It was 65us dollars, very expensive in my opinion. We were picked up in and old beat up pick up truck with garbage in the back and very messy in the cab. The lady was kind but not in any hurry to bring us to our destination. She made a stop for us to pick up snacks then she stopped 3x's, one for her to meet with someone ( tour guide company) for 15 minutes which we feel was planned to hook us up with a tour in the area. I assume she makes a commission. I was told by the hotel to book our tours when we arrive but its best to book your tours in advance online, its safer and you get the tour you want. Then she stopped for fruit and then again in the river crossing to cool off and change her shirt. After a very long travel day we really just wanted to get to our destination. The Seaview room is very small, no where to hang up clothes or wet towels and the beds were hard as a rock, shared bathroom and showers. The hotel is located on an extremely steep, rough road that leads to the beach with no form of transport to get up and down. This was very unpleasant and we had to make sure we planned to stay down by the beach until the sundown as it was way to steep and hot to go back and forth from the hotel to the beach. With only one restaurant at the hotel for food it was a very limited menu and very expensive for what you get. The food was very bland. Thankfully we found the only other restaurant alternative (Life to Life - Sunset beach restaurant) on the beach that was slightly better and they allowed us to hangout in the hammocks in the shade, and were very kind to us. It would have been nice to have a small communal fridge for personal beverages at Bella Vista for the guests. Upon discussing with other guests staying at the hotel we felt like it was just a cash grab as they know you have no other choices available. I would not recommend this place and would stay in Drake Bay next time.
Accommodation is basic, but was fine for us. The room had a shared veranda with a hammock overlooking the most amazing view. The owner is really nice and happy to arrange your trips. There's a restaurant on site serving traditional Costa Rican food whihc was all really nice.
The main thing about this place is the location. Its up ona hill overlooking the sea. Its a remote spot so very peacful and you can walk donw to the beach in about 5-10mins.
The area in general is stunning. By far the most "off the beaten" area we went to in Costa Rica. I'd recommend the Sirena station day trip as well as the Isla De Cano snorkelling. There's also a ncie coastal walk into Drake Bay which passes lots of beautiful beaches.
