Location was nice and close to the beach, staff were kind, room was spacious. The bar and patio were very pleasant.
Stayed in similar accommodations in Costa Rica (no hot water, basic but clean and functional amenities) that were much less expensive - the night before, we stayed at a property that was less than half of what we paid at hotel Georgi. Breakfast was not included in the price, and the breakfast was pretty expensive for basic gallo pinto.
Overall, the hotel is pretty great and the owners are lovely. It's very quiet, the rooms are nice and the beds firm. The owners cook their own meals at the restaurant, it takes some time but it's very tasty. For the money you pay (which is half the price of most villas in the vicinity) it's a steal. Right on the beach, close to the main road and a bunch of places to eat. The pool is large, bigger than most tiny hotel pools, and is cleaned regularly. Rooms are also cleaned a few times a week. There are howler monkeys living in the trees right next to the hotel.
One thing needs to be made clearer in the description: the hotel doesn't have hot water. It's a little warm from the sun, but it's nowhere near hot. The temperature outside is 33C degrees most days, so it's not like you want a hot shower but it's hard to get grime and sand out without hot water. Also, out of all the pillows in the room, only one was in decent shape. None of this was a deal-breaker for me, esp for the price, so I was comfortable.
The hotel appeared to be in a state of ongoing renovation. The staff was friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Once I arrived to the room I noticed that the door did not offer much in the way of security. Although the door had a locking feature, the fit of the door left a sizable gap along the frame. The room had both A/C and a ceiling fan. There was no closet in the room, but a dresser was provided for storage. The bathroom was clean however, the water temperature left me chilly as the maximum level of hot was less than lukewarm. The restaurant food was good and adequately priced. The hotel was within walking distance to the beach. If you're looking for a reasonably priced, clean property with a great staff, consider the Hotel Georgi in Playa Junquillal.
