This is a really lovely hotel with large rooms, a nice bathroom, a terrace with view over the river. It is a little confusing because the hotel is separate to reception, but otherwise really lovely inside. We had a drink at the reception bar/restaurant which has an incredible view over the river. It is a luxurious stop for those walking the Malerweg. The hotel also has access to a sauna in town, which was our favourite sauna experience of the week - absolutely would recommend, it was quiet and relaxing.
Nothing
Grande chambre. Repas absolument excellents.
Our room was modern and clean. I really appreciate the overall concept of this hotel cluster—revitalizing the village in an environmentally friendly way, promoting self-sufficiency, and preserving historical traces. It left a strong impression on me. As for the food, I liked the use of high-quality ingredients.
We stayed there on a half-board basis. The restaurant's cooking was nothing special—just straightforward, home-style dishes. If you haven’t booked dinner, be aware that getting to Bad Schandau takes some time, and you’ll need to plan for the return as well. Because the restaurant is quite overpriced without an all-inclusive or half-board package.
A note for those sensitive to noise: all rooms with a mountain view face the main road (Landstraße).
Additionally, the reception is located about 100–200 meters away, in the village center. We almost missed its opening hours.
exceptional breakfast !!
