Casa Veintiuno

We didn't know what to expect at Casa Veintiuno. But we were very pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious and sparkling clean. The hosts were attentive to any need we had. Their hospitality is off the chart.

Casa 21 is like no other place we’ve lived at-it’s the most personable and memorable stay ever. Before we even got to the place, there were so many details shared regarding our stay. From the minute we entered, Saskia and Marc made sure that we had everything we needed to ensure that our stay was comfortable. We had early morning excursions on some days and Saskia and Marc insisted on accommodating us by serving breakfast well before the restaurant’s opening time, so that we were not hungry and tired during the day. The food and cocktails were very fresh and we had most of our meals at Casa21. They even paid attention to my allergies and asked us about our dietary requirements well before we arrived. We could see that the room had lots of attention to detail, from the bath robes and flip flops to the body products and sustainable sanitary disposable bags. They also have two very friendly and adorable dogs. We were here on our engagement trip and had the best time. We look forward to returning back down the line just so we can experience casa21 once again. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a place with happy vibes with excellent food and hosts!

I don’t usually write reviews on Tripadvisor, but I just had to share our family's experience with Casa Ventiuno. Casa Veintiuno just blew us all away! This 3-room boutique hotel is a real jewel in the Caribbean, with its own pool, sunning areas and unique balconies. You are just a short walk to the beach and town, but it still feels like your own private getaway... especially since we took all three rooms on the property. The property is gorgeous, the rooms are spotless, and the food? Easily some of the best we’ve had in the Caribbean. This is the only place in the DR I feel comfortable ordering green salads; the kitchen cooks to the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. The restaurant is so good that we ate all of our evening meals there, in addition to the complimentary breakfast. Saskia and Marc are incredible hosts who have thought of every little detail to make your stay perfect. Seriously, if you’re looking for a place to stay in Sosua, stop searching—this is it!

Our stay at Casa Vientiuno was the highlight of our visit to the area. The suites are beautiful, well appointed, and exceeded expectations in every way. With just 3 suites on the property, it felt intimate and peaceful. Every detail of the stay was taken care of with personal and attentive service from Saskia, Marc, and their amazing staff. The breakfasts were quickly tailored to suit everyone's taste and morning mood. Then onward to refreshments by the pool.
After dining in the restaurant the first evening, we couldn't think of anywhere else we would rather want to eat, so we took all of our evening meals there. Why venture from the best restaurant in town ? A table is always reserved for hotel guests, whether alone or entertaining a group of friends. We wished for a longer stay so we could sample more of the menu ! Every dish was masterfully created and presented, served with care and attention to detail.
Casa Vientiuno is an Oasis in a sea of mediocracy !

We have just spent 6 nights at the wonderful Casa Veintiuno. Our hosts Saskia and Marc along with their team ensured we had a very relaxing stay at this charming boutique hotel, located a short walk from the beach and the town. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and very comfortable with a lovely pool surrounded by manicured gardens and a very tastefully decorated dining area where we enjoyed an extensive breakfast every morning with freshly prepared juice and great coffee. Dinner was absolutely beautiful and the restaurant is totally deserving of its reputation for having the best food in Sosúa. Saskia and Marc’s two dogs add to the homely, welcoming atmosphere and met us every morning when we came to breakfast. From the moment we came through the white gate of this amazing place Saskia and Marc have showed us that their absolute priority is the comfort of their guests and we would wholeheartedly recommend Casa Veintiuna to anybody visiting Sosua.

Beautiful comfortable accommodations, Saskia and Marc are perfect hosts. I can’t imagine a better place to stay in Soskua, or for matter, anywhere on the north of Dominican Republic. Food was delicious, artfully prepared and fully satisfying. I enjoyed the pool very much. Their rescue dogs are a very homey addition to the experience. So helpful with arranging for excursions.

What a lovely experience! Every detail has been thought of. Saskia and mark are the ultimate hosts. Their rescue dogs add even more warmth to the experience. Chocolate mousse was divine. Can’t recommend enough. The inn is super clean and rooms are spacious. Breakfast is wonderful as well. Thank you!

Saskia and Marc are lovely, gracious hosts who attend to your every need. The space is large and private with both indoor and outdoor amenities. Their restaurant is the best in the area. It’s very close to town and Playa Sosúa.

Casa is the very best place to stay in Sousa 5star ! The hosts Saskia and Marc are so hospitable, warm and friendly! Your stay will be so relaxing and and very comfortable in the cleanest place there is! No need to worry about the water as everything is certified as safe water at Casa 21! They have the friendliest staff that always have a smile and are very attentive! It has been the best vacation we have ever had!!

Finally, after 8 years I was able to re-visit my favorite place in Sosua. All together this must have been my seventh or eight time. I was so happy to find Casa 21 almost unchanged, and I mean this in the most positive way. Saskia and Marc still do a more than outstanding job. Their staff must be amongst the best in the country. The breakfast has a great variety and is a perfect start for a lazy day by the pool. The delicious dinner is a culinary delight, best food I ever had in the Dominican Republic. I am sooo looking forward to my next trip to Casa Veintiuno!!

Not my first trip to the area. Came for a long weekend to visit friends. First time traveling alone. I am fortunate to have found Casa21. A bed and breakfast that is an oasis in Sousa. I wanted a to co e to "get away from reality" for a fee days.
For a solo female traveler, I feel perfectly safe. Staying here is one of the best experiences I have had traveling. I could be happy just staying in, reading and swimming.
Breakfast is wonderful. Fresh fruits. Omlettes. Breads. No rush to leave the table beside the pool. I sat and read for almost 2 hours.
Haven't had dinner yet. Did have dessert last night. Do not miss the pineapple ravioli. Just enough. Not overly sweet.
The bed and breakfast would be great for a couple. Only 3 rooms. The single I am in is wonderful. Definitely relaxing.
This will be where I stay from now on!

We went to celebrate our anniversary. We had previously gone for new years eve. The staff was amazing . Our table was set with a happy anniversary placard and flowers. The food did not disappoint. Everything about the restaurant was elegance. Saskia came over several times just to check on how we were and if there was anything else we needed. You definitely felt like a guest in her home. Going back soon.

My expectation was far exceeded with my 6 day stay at this beautiful hotel. I wanted a small hotel that wasn’t too crowded. This place was exactly what I needed, the owners were very friendly and made me feel welcome from the day we arrived until the day we left. The ambiance of hotel is luxury comfort. The hotel smells amazing when you walk in! The dogs are friendly and cute. I would highly recommend staying here. I will surely stay here again if I go back to the Dominican Republic Sosua area.

We had originally booked to stay in 2020 but had to pause our plans because of Covid. To hold our deposit, Saskia and Marc kindly gave us vouchers with no expiry so it was so lovely to rebook once things lined up again for us. Rather than booking the entire hotel for our family (which was our original plan) , we opted to enjoy some time without children around Valentine's day.

I'm so happy we did!

I am a frequent user but infrequent reviewer on Tripadvisor. But once in a while you come across a place so exceptional it would be a tremendous disservice to everyone else to not share how special your stay was. Casa Veintiuno exceeded every expectation of ours. The location is perfect, a short walk to the beach and town center, yet secluded enough to feel like a private residence. The grounds are impeccably manicured, and the rooms are spotless. The food we were able to enjoy was some of the best we have had throughout the entire Caribbean. And our hosts Saskia and Marc have ensured every aspect of our stay was perfectly catered. Do yourself a favor and stop your search now for a place to stay in Sosua.

Beautiful, clean, convenient, well-appointed, and the kind of personalized service that is rare and wonderful. Saskia and Marc know how to make you feel welcome and appreciated from the initial communication through your final goodbyes. The staff are all professional and efficient, and the house dogs Maximus, Botti, and Puka are sweet and entertaining. The property and rooms are clean and well-appointed. The food is incredible, especially the pineapple brulee dessert! Location is perfect as it's quiet but an easy walk to both the beach and the city. Yes you have to cross a busy road, but if you cross at one of the speed bumps, the traffic will stop for you. If you're looking for a party hotel, this isn't for you. But if you want to relax and enjoy personal service in luxurious comfort, plus great drinks and food, you will not find a better place to stay in Sosua. We will be back!
