good stay in the downtown inexpensive hotel in Lanzhou :)
Pros:

Good ratio 'value for money', close to the most interesting part of Lanzhou (essentially - 'downtown', a nice night market is just a few minutes away, walkable (15 minutes or less?) to the Yellow River, many shops nearby.
The subway station (Provincial government) is just 10 minutes (or so) away.

Good staff, but practically nobody speaks English, this was the only issue with the hotel, but with some help from mobile it was overcome.

The web-site says - only mainland Chinese are allowed, but the hotel is bookable on internet, also on the Booking.com, so it's fine.

Overall, nice, simple hotel close to downtown and main attractions. Would stay there again.
