Lovely setting. Staff were amazing.
Nothing.
Excellanti
The Hotel has beautiful character both inside and out, and the drive way and gardens are immaculate. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant were great and very spacious between each table so you never felt cramped in.
Can’t think of anything.
The location , walks, river and the beautiful house. Staff friendly.
Prices for food and drink were high.

Lovely situation. Gardens are immaculate with the whole area nicely presented.
Our room was situated in the annex with a lovely view of the gardens.
Very good breakfast with plenty of choice.
Only the en-suite which is a little dated as the shower was in the bath! Not ideal for the older generation!
Very grand building on the edge of the river. The food was good and the staff were excellent. Good car charging on site.
The swimming pool was under renovation. Female changing room was out of order so women used the male changing and males changed in a small massage room. Our son didn’t like the dead animals on the walls! 😂
The room was nice. They provided option for tea coffee by instant & coffee machine. Welcome water was provided. Shower over bath was a little due to tiny space but clean.
The reception staff.
Where do we start !! The beautiful bar space was poorly managed. All dressed up for an evening in the bar with a piano player in the background. The bar tender staff began to deconstruct the bar, taking away cocktail items, napkins, provocations etc. At first I thought they were cleaning but the person informed me they start to clear & close from 8pm each evening. They leave at 11pm & as hotel guests we could get drinks from the porter.
Embarrassing, embarrassed we left. Had a conversation with bar manager who said yes that was right and offered us a free lunch which we declined as that was not the message we wanted him to hear!!!
Lovely outside space and gardens
The room was tired, worn and needed updating, painting or fixing the curtains. The balcony was great to sit out on but the room smelled damp, flaky door at the bathroom. For the price you'd expect better.
L’emplacement au cœur d’un parc magnifique.
La qualité de services. L’élégance de la décoration.
Breakfast was awful. Eggs and sausage was well over cooked, bacon was presented with white fat still on it. Poor fruit available, peaches and a bowl of mixed salad. Not impressed having to get your own tea or coffee. In a 4 star hotel. Never had that before. Paying a lot of money to stay there and couldn't be bothered to get their customer tea or coffee served at the table.
When the hotel allocate you a room and that is what you expect then that is what you should get. We were put in an attic which was far to hot and a lot smaller than the superior double we paid for. Window could only open 10cm. Asked for fan and told they didn't have one. Asked for a refund and told no. Wanted to leave but couldn't. Made to stay. Spoke with different people about our situation. Nobody interested. Couldn't breath in this room far far to hot. I thought I could pass out. Got up at 4.30am and couldn't go back to sleep for the heat. Hotel didn't care. It was unbearable.
Lunch: Forgot to bring water to the table after asking when placed order. Waitress admitted this. Charged a service charge on our lunch order . Ordered two portions of chips. Time 4.50pm. Both bar people ignored me completely and filled two trays of drink for customer outside. At 5pm eventually got served. When I asked for my order she told me I was to late as it was 5pm she told me to come back at 5.30pm. I told her I had been there since 4.50pm and ignored. I got the chips eventually. We wanted to leave. As this was my husband's birthday and were attending the Landrover Experience the next day this was supposed to be a lovely experience for him. We spent £360 for this hotel. It was a disaster. I was so upset. Speaking with the management they didn't care. We should have had the first floor as allocated but got an attic room. I checked out this room on the second floor and it was indicated it was a classic double not a superior. I want to know why it was changed. It was allocated to us with no indication it may change. So why change us. We complained before 3 pm the check in time. Why not get a paying customer a fan when we had no option to stay there. We felt forced to stay which was horrible.
I will be writing a letter of complaint to the hotel and their head office. This is after speaking to them face to face.
