Friendly staff and perfect location for coast path walking.
It did what we needed, a nice warm room for the night. Nothing particularly special, definitely cater to a particular demographic. Breakfast ok, not cooked fresh.
The crew was well-trained. Though what they served for breakfast was a bit different from those served at 5 star hotels, the breakfast crew was very good, but received no tips. I am really sorry for them.
The building was old and probably extended some times. As a result, a little difficult to know how to evacuate in case of emergency. By the way, this is the place where Elizabeth Barrett Browning used to live for three years. It was a little comfort to me.
The room was clean and comfortable. Check in was easy thanks to the great staff. We had everything we needed for a great stay.
It was clean and very well located
Unfortunately this is a Hotel that caters to Seniors, some of whom decided from 3.30am for the next couple of hours to have loud conversations and visit each in a Hotel which has poor sound proofing. That and the noisy plumbing made for a disturbed night's sleep. I'm not sure what a Hotel can do about inconsiderate guests.
Check in time was 4 pm but for an extra £10 I could check in at 1 pm. Before the Pandemic check in times were 2 pm. Now I am nickel and dimed so I can spend an extra 3 hours in a room with a view of the bins.
Very clean
Lots of steps up and down. Bed too hard
The staff were welcoming
Breakfast is 8-9 but on Sunday the tables were all cleared by 8.30 and I felt I couldn't stay to enjoy my breakfast. Rooms are very dated and damp. We kept hitting our heads on the lamps above the headboard.
Breakfast very good. Staff exceptional. No more
View from room
Good base
No parking
Great location, convenient car park directly opposite. Breakfast was very nice and plentiful. Restaurant staff very helpful / friendly.
We booked a sea view room just a couple of days before our stay. There was scaffolding up for roof repairs, which we understand needed to be done but we should have been told when we booked as it took away most of our view. They were ready for complaints as they had a stack of preprinted partial refund forms at reception!
The power kept cutting out in our room and could not be fixed straight away so we were moved to a triple bed room with an awful view. The manager was abrupt and very matter of fact, not at all sympathetic. We raised a complaint with Alfa Travel regarding his attitude and general lack of interest. They seemed to just send the complaint to the hotel manager who disputed all of our points. He said things to my husband that he later denied in the complaint response.
Nice and near to marina.
All geared up for coach holiday people , we didn't have the welcome expected or a goodbye hope you enjoyed your stay , very disappointing but now we know its a coach holiday hotel ...will steer clear and use a friendly hotel nearby.
Location
Bit like a maze lots of corridors
Room rate included breakfast but I needed to be up and away earlier than 08.00 so no time to have it
Room was very small
Location is exceptional, close to the vibrant restaurants, bars, etc, right on the marina but easily walkable to the shops and beaches and with a parking lot close by. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Shower had plenty of power, something you don't always get in older hotels. Had both restaurant and bar on site too
Booking.com somehow overbooked the double rooms so I ended up with a twin single after specifically bypassing the option to go for the cheapest option and choosing a small double so I didn't have a single bed as I tend to move around a lot in my sleep. The hotel staff were very apologetic and screwed the two singles together but still with two single mattresses and two sets of single bedding. Decor a bit olde worlde/dated
Great location, clean and tidy
Complicated building way too many stairs , room need updating
Great staff
Nothing
