Beautifully designed hotel with everything you could want for a relaxing stay
Wow, what a wonderful find. Wenonlynstaysnone night but we’re spot rotten. So was our little daxie Cyril.
Lovely room. A little bit too warm but very comfy with access out onto a walk for our dog.
Breakfast - best porridge I’ve ever eaten. Hubby had full English. A perfect start to our onward journey to Mull. Highly recommended.
Such friendly and welcoming staff. Warm and cosy. Great views. Excellent breakfasts.
We normally like to vary what we do but No.26 hits the sweet spot for us.
Wow, what a lovely place to stay !!!
The location of the hotel is within easy reach of the town centre, with a nice and easy walk along the sea wall.
The hotel itself, is as it states is 'dog friendly' and our dog Percy was made very very welcome. That was the ethos of all the staff at the hotel, they made us feel very welcome at all times. We had room No 6 which was an excellent recommendation as the room backed onto the back of the hotel and gave a direct access to a path for dog walks. The room itself was tastefully done and just the right size for us and our dog and the bed very comfortable.
Breakfast was very special with freshly
made dishes to your liking. Even our dog enjoyed breakfast and managed to eat his sausage in double quick time. Although, the hotel does not provide a permanent restaurant, there are plenty of very good and dog friendly restaurants in the town to choose from.
Finally, I can highly recommend this Hotel and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
We loved everything about our stay at No. 26. Our room very comfortable and had the most beautiful view of the water. We could have sat and looked out the window all day. Breakfast each morning was so delicious! I have celiac disease and they were happy to accommodate. We woke up each morning to a tray of juice and gluten free pastries that were so good I was a little nervous to eat them! The lounge area downstairs was lovely and we enjoyed a charcuterie board there for dinner one night with a bottle from the honesty bar. The staff was very kind, hospitable and accommodating. We can’t wait to go back!
Lovely welcome from Carrie upon arrival and again from Rachael when we returned from dinner.🤪
Our room was quirky, bed comfortable and the early morning delivery of pain au chocolat and fruit juice to the room was a nice touch and much appreciated.
Breakfast was superb, thank you chef!
We spent most of the first morning sitting in the lounge reading, such a relaxed atmosphere!
The hotel was spotless and well appointed, with everything in the room you could possibly need.
Great situation with on site parking.
Only downside for me was the curtain treatment in our room. The curtains didn’t meet the wall meaning early morning light flooding in and possibly a lack of privacy in the evening, but someone else may not have been troubled by that.
Very friendly staff, super efficient welcome, great room, fabulous breakfast, all in all an excellent stay. Would highly recommend. We didn't have dogs with us this time, but last time we had them and the hotel is totally set up to have dogs staying.
Absolutely fabulous stay at No 26 although the weather did put a dampener on our stay in Oban. From the warm welcome by Rachel to the wonderful room, with dog bed, water bowl and treats for our dog to the delicious breakfasts, (highly recommend the porridge with whisky and honey sauce!) I can't find fault. The bed was super comfy and the bath was my wife's favourite thing. Access to the garden made having a dog with us a joy as we could just open the door and let her out. And there is a great walk just outside the garden gate. Staff were excellent and so friendly and the honesty bar is a fantastic idea. Try the charcuterie. It was amazing. Will definitely return, hopefully when the weather is better!!
Beautiful room, lovely lounge area and great views, fantastic choice of breakfast which was cooked to our liking, friendly staff, cosy and bright throughout. Complimentary orange juice and pastries delivered to the room in the morning.
Nothing
Absolutely brilliant wee hotel. Loved everything about it. Staff and service were all fabulous. Rooms felt very luxurious and spotlessly clean.
Having breakfast made in the open kitchen was very cool and food absolutely delicious. Cannot rate it highly enough. Will 100% be back.
We loved everything about our stay at No 26 by the Sea. The staff couldn't have done more to make my husband and I but especially our dog, Evie, more welcome.
We were given a glass on bubbly on arrival (plus water for Evie), asked about our breakfast choice for the following morning as it would be cooked fresh in the open kitchen next to us then shown to our lovely room which looked out over the water.
The room was immaculate with special touches throughout including a bed for the dog and a bag of biscuit treats too. The bathroom facilities were ideal with a great shower and 4 bags hanging with extra items we might need like an iron, hairdryer, magnified mirror and alarm clock.
We enjoyed sitting in the lounge after eating dinner out in Oban and relaxed by the bay window reading the books about local history and playing cards. There was even a very well stocked honesty bar.
In the morning, before breakfast, we were left a little tray outside our room of bottles of orange juice and mini pastries. Breakfast was superb and we were even given a sausage to take back up to Evie in the room.
There was nothing to dislike.
Loved everything. Lounge was lovely, staff were great, room felt luxurious and Loved the open kitchen for breakfast.
Only wish we could have stayed longer!
Great location best staff. Nothings a problem, happy to help you. Great with dogs visiting and fab walks just around the hotel. The rooms are beautiful and I would love to stay again.
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this beautiful seaside hotel. Waking up to the sound of the waves and having the sea right on our doorstep made it feel like a true escape.
What really made the experience special, though, was the service. Every member of staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely personable—they made us feel more like guests in their home than customers. The little touches didn’t go unnoticed either, especially the warm welcome drink on arrival, which set the tone perfectly for the rest of our stay.
The atmosphere was relaxed yet lively, and everything felt thoughtfully done without being over the top. We also loved how dog-friendly the hotel was—it can be hard to find places that truly welcome dogs, but here they made just as much of a fuss of our furry companion as they did of us.
All in all, a wonderful stay with stunning views, exceptional service, and those extra thoughtful details that make all the difference. We’ll definitely be back!
What a wonderful hotel! From the moment we arrived we were made so welcome. Our bedroom was beautifully decorated in a unique style and really cozy and comfortable. Every area of the hotel was spotlessly clean and decorated to a really high standard. The position of the hotel on the seafront offered the most amazing views, we didn't have the best weather but if you were lucky enough to get sunshine there is a lovely patio area out the front and the hotel offers an honesty bar for drinks.
Each morning we had fresh orange juice and pastries left to our door, a lovely touch! The breakfast is freshly cooked to order by the chef in the open plan kitchen) dining room. I had 3 different breakfasts and everyone was incredible.
The location of the hotel is great and is only a short walk along the prom to the town centre, there are a limited number of parking spaces at the hotel alternatively you can park outside on the street ( metre parking).
I can't praise the staff enough, they went above and beyond you make our stay special, nothing was too much trouble.
In summary this hotel is a gem and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting to take a trip to Oban.
2nd time at No 26 and once again it didn’t disappoint us. Fantastic location, gorgeous room (2),delicious breakfast and fantastic staff. It’s a shame about the weather, but the view from our room was wonderful! Thanks again Carey all your help don’t know what we’d do within you ! . Wonderful xx
