The location is stunning and the views are remarkable. Fantastic staff and really interesting developments have taken place to create an extraordinary wedding venue as well as a lovely lace to stay.
We liked everything!
Fantastic location.
Comfy beds
Helpful and friendly staff
Great parking
Smart functions on the TV in one room didn't work. Moved to a different room and the TV had no smart functions.
Although the breakfast had a wide range of options, overall I would say the food was average at best.
It was a very romantic setting the breakfast was brilliant
There was nothing not to like
Views are magnificent. I liked the interior decor. Our room was very clean and comfortable.
Very little.
Great location, spacious and beautiful grounds, friendly staff and a delicious breakfast! The room had everything we needed and was very cosy and comfortable.
If walking the Cleveland Way is perfect, it's right on the path!! Views are incredible over the bay!!
On the pricey side of things -
The location was perfect for us
A beautiful newly renovated property
The distance from the room to the restaurant
The location was amazing, the staff were so helpful and friendly

Views, room, staff
I liked everything
Breakfast and location were very good.
Had a negative experience while purchasing cocktails in the hotel bar on Wednesday 29th April at 730pm onwards. I ordered 2 pina colladaoes and 2 aperol spritz. While drinking the cocktails I realised something was missing from the cocktails and that was alcohol. I therefore asked the waiter if he had put any alcohol in the drinks, he looked shocked and sheepishly replied he had forgotten while his co worker quickly disappeared never to return or if he did he never looked me in the eye again. Meanwhile the quiet waiter now started talking and making chit chat with us in a nervous way. To my self and my partner Natalie something seemed amiss. I resolved on the day of our departure to say something to the manager of the hotel. We departed on the 1st May not before I had raised the issue with management about the cocktails without Alcohol and the behaviour of the waiters. sadly management were not concerned and basically became very defensive on the issue replying immediately that such a thing had never happened before and were reluctant to hear my story.
I did leave a letter of complaint but as of yet had no response. It could of course be a genuine mistake from the waiter however the whole atmosphere and general behaviours of the waiters after I asked if any alcohol was included in the drink was quite bizarre to say the least and I felt I was being scammed sadly.
Night porter a true gentleman and obviously takes pride in his position. A true asset
Meals were lovely. The views were amazing!! The staff were really friendly and helpful
I had a double aspect room and the views were wonderful. Food was good and serving and attendance at breakfasts and the wedding feast itself were both excellent. We also had dinner on the first night ~ delicious and served by kindly and attentive staff.
I loved the chapel where the wedding ceremony was held ~ light, airy and beautifully furnished and what a view! Considerable thought and planning have produced a room that could only add to the wedding party's and guests' enjoyment. As a wedding venue the location could hardly be bettered ~ and the staff certainly made sure that our happiness and comfort was paramount.
The hotel was somewhat 'tired' and a little shabby. But it is a large structure and, since the owners have only recently taken over, this will take time to improve and I could see that much has been achieved already. I was constantly getting lost and the building did seem rather like a maze! There was, however, always a helpful member of staff to direct me so that all (and I) was not lost.
