Absolutely love the location and setting of the Diglis Hotel and the refurbishments that it has undergone and staff are
Pros:

Fantastic setting by the river and Worcester town and race course is easily accessible from this location. The hotel has had recent renovations which have definitely improved the overall look and feel of the hotel. Excellent choice for breakfast options, field mushrooms were outstanding but sausages very poor quality ( possibly vegan?)Staff very accommodating and welcoming and they work hard to make sure you feel at home.

Cons:

Issues with our hot water system meant cold and lukewarm showers on both mornings of our stay and extremely hot in the top floor bedrooms in the annexe that the little fan didnt stand a chance of addressing.

Perfect for a stay in central Worcester.
Pros:

Perfect location for town, cathedral and restaurants. Lovely view of the river from the garden and a riverside walk to check out the dozens of swans.
All staff very friendly, professional and helpful. The restaurant is comfortable and food delicious.
Thank you for a great stay.

Cons:

Just one thing. The room above the kitchen was very hot ( despite small AC unit) and also noisy due to close proximity of the extractor fans. The other two rooms that our group had were ideal, especially the one in the annex, overlooking the river. A little more expensive but well worth the extra.

Lovely staff and location in a characterful building. Would certainly return - but not in a heatwave
Pros:

The location and outside seating areas were excellent. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Breakfasts were very good quality with a good range of choices. The hotel is an old house with character which we like.
We would certainly return - but not in a heat-wave of 35 degrees C!

Cons:

Our stay coincided with a heatwave and because the hotel is an old house without air-conditioning our room was uncomfortably hot. The hotel made efforts to help by providing two large, efficient fans which was much appreciated.
I am sure that at any other time, this would be a five-star review,

A nice stay spoiled by the Breakfast!
Pros:

Efficient check in,friendly staff, the room was nice, clean but, roastingly hot.The complimentary water was hot enough to brew tea,no fridge in the room, this is the 21st century! AC is obviously not an option in such an old building.Breakfast was a farce,we waited 20 minutes just to give our order then another 25 minutes for it to arrive .Cold rock solid poached eggs, bacon so hard it was difficult to cut, after such a long wait it was a very poor, substandard breakfast, the milk was going off,had to take cups and napkins from other tables.Being constantly apologised to by over worked, stressed staff does not paint a picture of an efficient well run operation!!Our 4th visit to the Diglis and sadly by far the worst!!
Returned for our second stay of the weekend on the Sunday, warm welcome, lovely room, went to breakfast with some trepidation, faultless, perfect poached eggs, great service but, there's always something,no hot water,a lukw warm shower to start the day was disappointing!

Overpriced food
Pros:

Lovely place to sit alongside the river but few issues. Firstly was told it was table service when trying to order but nobody came to our table for 20 minutes so we ended up ordering at the bar anyway.

£15 for a portion of loaded fries that doesn’t even come on a plate is ridiculous and extremely overpriced. The chicken wings £16, also came in cardboard, not on a plate. Tiny cardboard boxes that isn’t fit for purpose, so much so that the waitress put it down and the chicken wings toppled onto the table…

£12 for a baguette and salad too.

Lovely place but food is £££ for what it is

Great staff, very polite and helpful, shame about our choice of room.
Pros:

The public areas were well looked after and pleasing. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The location exelant. it is so close of the shops and places of intrest that we did not need the car. We enjoid a morning walk by the river every day>

Cons:

The accommadodation was poor. We chose a feature room thinking this would be large and comfortable. As it turned out the furniture was old, maybe1920's and the two are chairs has been well used and were very heavy to move. It was one of the hottest few days but we were unable to open the sash windows wide enough to get a good breeze going. On the food front the breakfast was good but the evening meal not so. My wife ordered buttermilk chicken and the chicken was only about 3/8ths of an inch thick surrounded with a very hard crispy coating. We still enjoyed our visit and will stay there again but will be more careful about our choice of room.

A lovely hotel set by a river, quiet and peaceful, excellent service by staff.
Pros:

The gentleman at reception was extremely helpful on the night of our arrival. The room was smaller than expected, extremely hot, no air conditioning, we had one fan but it was suffocating. At our request he very kindly brought up a fan. To have such a fabulous choice of vegan breakfasts was fantastic for me. As a blue badge holder they had reserved a parking place for me. Which made it easy for me. At a charge was able to do a late check out.

Cons:

Room was small, uncomfortable with the heat, no air conditioning. Even a portable one would have been great. The shower pressure was not great.
