Great location and a nice looking property
Great staff and breakfast was excellent

Cons:

Our room, the location was at the entrance to the accommodation block and we could hear everyone passing our door as the outside door was only a couple of meters from our room door
The bathroom toilet was positioned very uncomfortably too close to the wall and toilet roll holder so we kept hitting that

Cons:

Single pained window next to a busy road so it was noisy. There was only a slatted blind on the window so no chance of sleeping in as the wasn’t dark. Only one bath towel given for 2 guests.

Pros:

Cons:

Bar closed at 10, everywhere said it was open till 11. Roo. Wasn't as clean as I would expect. Not filthy but definitely not clean. Strange noise kept going off but could figure out what it was

Overall, it has deteriorated strongly over the last 4-5 years, reaching a new low
Pros:

Homely hotel in principle; apprently the pub should have good food but the breakfast this time was not good, so cannot confirm

Cons:

- Room was very cold
- Room was dirty (spider webs above window; dirt on toilet even after cleaner had been)
- Cleaning service missed my room once
- Cleaning service spreads out towels across the entire building in front of rooms on the hallway and by the stairs, sometimes making it hard to walk past and raising hygiene concerns
- Breakfast was not good (very fatty eggs, burned sausage, dry beans)
- Staff was not always available at check-in and made mistakes (e.g., forgot to charge me for breakfast) - generally, there seemed not to be lots of structured processes in place

Health Hazards, Broken Facilities, Lack of Internet and Dishonest Management
Pros:

I stay in this area weekly for business, but I will never step foot in this hotel again. My last two stays were a complete nightmare.

HYGIENE: During my first stay (Room 19), I found fresh blood stains on the bedding. This is a gross violation of basic standards and a clear health hazard.

EQUIPMENT FAILURE: In my second stay (Room 2), the heating was stuck at maximum. The floor was burning hot and the room felt like a sauna. I had to sleep with windows wide open in February just to breathe.

NO WI-FI: Despite being a business traveller, the Wi-Fi was non-functional for the duration of my stay, making it impossible to work.

MANAGEMENT: While the night staff acknowledged the heating fault and moved me to another room, the manager (Chris) later told Agoda he "disagreed" with my complaint. This level of dishonesty is unacceptable.

BILLING: There is also a discrepancy between the Agoda charge (£53) and the hotel’s VAT invoice (£44), which I am currently investigating.

If you value your health, your sleep, and your ability to work, stay elsewhere. This property is poorly maintained and poorly managed.

Pros:

1-night stay for work. Pleasant staff, nice room (room 10) comfortable bed, good ensuite (shower over bath), TV and wifi good. I paid extra for my breakfast, chose the cooked breakfast which was great and hot. Car park was free.

Disappointing
Cons:

Breakfast was awful, poached eggs had to be done twice and was still not done properly, the egg whites were not cooked. The room was noisy, I counted 123 cars between 23.45pm and 5.30am, green light was visibly all night. 1st night no sleep. Changed rooms but didn't have breakfast the next day as I didn't want the same experience although I had paid for it.

Won’t return.
Pros:

Good food, nice staff and comfortable rooms

Cons:

We was not made aware that there would be an early last orders of 22:00hrs on a Friday night!! If we had known this we wouldn’t have booked. All of the information states bar is open until 23:00 including the information left in the room. We are a group of friends who travel from afar to see each other so be sent to bed at 2230 on a Friday night was not good.
