The history
My wife got food poisoning and was hospitalised
Hotel set in it's own grounds, staff very welcoming and friendly, room was clean and comfortable and met all of our needs. The hotel restaurant was superb.
Nothing, but if I had to find fault it would be being very politely asked if everything was alright with the meal at the evening meal, I am more than capable of making a complaint if needed. I have to admit this is a pet hate of mine.
Nice old house. Faded grandeur
A little tatty. Bathrooms need a refit and a check to see what is working or not. Bulbs replaced. Knobs on shower missing.
Great location for an overnighter in North Yorkshire.
Lovely atmosphere created by the helpful friendly staff. Good evening meal with varied menu. Great breakfast with every choice available.
Our only negative was the bed! Very soft and only a double in a deluxe room. We tactfully suggest 2 single beds in this room which could be pushed together if necessary.
Otherwise - well be back especially at the price!!
A beautiful hotel in a lovely setting near the glorious north east coast.
The staff are super, the food delicious and best of all it doesn't cost a fortune!
We hope to go back again soon.
Excellent base for getting around to see attractions etc. Hotel was clean warm comfortable and inviting .Staff were all well presented very friendly and helpful nothing to much trouble. Chef was very good prepared seperate menu for my food intolerences and all the food was excellent well presented and tasted yummy! Just like a home from home. Easily reccommend it to anyone .
Have stayed at Grinkle Park many times and it is our favourite hotel in its price bracket. Value for money is very, very good and standards have not dropped despite the difficulties imposed by the current financial situation. Staff are excellent and cannot be praised highly enough. Food is very well prepared, cooked and served with a good menu. Surroundings cannot be beaten and North Yorkshire is an ideal area to visit. Fine coastline, lovely moors and dales and very friendly people. Will be visiting again within the next few months. Can't wait.
Really enjoyed our stay including the afternoon tea with sweets and evening meal
It’s clear to see that a lot of investment has gone into refurbishing the public lounges and rooms
Grinkle Park has been our 'go to' hotel for over 40 years and it simply gets better each time we visit. The staff are so lovely and do their utmost to ensure everyone receives superb service. The food is exceptional and the rooms are gorgeous, comfy and spotlessly clean. Waking up to look out on beautifully kept gardens, watching the pheasants run across the lawn is amazing and so relaxing. We can't rate this hotel high enough. It's superb value for money and in our opinion, simply the best. Thank you to you all. x
Fabulous gem of a hotel. The staff were just lovely and were very accommodating. Peaceful and tranquil setting. Food, including the breakfast was great. Stayed with our dog and he loved it too. Plenty of space to wander and explore. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will almost certainly be returning.
Lovely stay. The staff were fabulous. Nothing too much trouble. We had the skylark room. A very dark, room but that was the location of the room Food was amazing. Only negative was the bathrobes provided were dirty and stained that were hung in wardrobe. Which wasn’t good.
Surprised to see staff tip/incentive added onto the overall check out bill of accommodation. Never seen that before on an accommodation but we didn’t mind as staff were great.
We arrived to a very warm welcome at reception, on a particularly foul wet day, were very pleasantly surprised at the quality and space in the rooms, just perfect. Grinkle Park retains this level of comfort throughout the hotel. During our stay everyone was friendly, fun, and helpful. Evening dinner was delicious and the breakfasts were very good, plenty of choice and presented well. A lovely evening in the bar with Charlie was fun ! Shame you are so far away, otherwise we'd be regulars !! Ted the dog loved it too and was welcomed.
We stayed here for Valentines night dinner, bed & breakfast deal.
The whole experience was excellent. The food was superb, lovely room & the staff were all fantastic & made us all so welcome. We will definitely be back soon. Highly recommended.
Lovely hotel and location, great food and very friendly staff.
Easy to find and Lovely area and grounds.
Nice room and bathroom, all clean and a comfortable bed.
Beautiful hotel in stunning countryside with the most incredible staff - all were friendly, extremely helpful and seemed genuinely pleased to see guests at their hotel!
We spent one night at Grinkle Park, and wished we could have stayed the week! Everything was absolutely perfect. We stayed in the Commondale Room, which had sweeping views over the lawns, and had everything we could possibly have needed. The food was superb! Our evening meal was an absolute delight. We were the only people at dinner & felt as though we had the hotel to ourselves!
The staff were wonderful, every one one of them going the extra mile to make us feel special.
Without doubt we shall be back! Thank you for a fabulous time!
Just had an excellent stay here. First time back in 31years, probably won’t leave it so long next time! Lovely clean hotel, nice tidy room and lovely food, all in all excellent value for money. That all said what really sets Grinkle apart from other places we’ve stayed and eaten is the attentiveness and friendliness of all the staff, whether that be the receptionist, bar staff or waiting staff. A real hidden gem, oh and they really love your dogs as well!
Fabulous hotel great food was delicious lots of flavour nice freshly cooked breakfast in the mornings Staff very friendly and helpful Good ambience in the hotel
We have a wonderful stay at Grinkle Park Hotel in January - made even better with a large amount of snow! As the countryside was blanketed with snow and trees were full, the driveway up to Grinkle Park Hotel looked like a magical winter wonderland. The staff were amazing, welcoming and nothing was too much to ask. When we arrived we had some sweet treats, which consisted of cakes and tea/coffee - and my compliments to the chef for the most delicious, still warm, slice of Parkin I've ever tasted. In the evening myself and my partner had a 3 course meal - starters was smoked salmon, mains was chicken for me and sirloin steak for partner, and dessert was the sticky toffee pudding and the vanilla pana cotta - all of which were mouth-wateringly delightful. After dinner, we had a few tipples at the bar and can definitely recommend having their Cherry Gin and Fizz cocktail! We stayed in the Ingleby room - which was a very large room with a huge comfortable bed, wardrobe, table, sofa, ensuite etc - and fantastic views of the garden and lake. The next morning we came down to breakfast, with an array of continental delights to include fruit, pastries, cereals, yoghurts, a variety of juices etc and then our order was taken for a full Yorkshire breakfast - which again tasted amazing. It's a shame that we only stayed for one night, but we will be returning at some point to stay for longer - thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
