Central location with car parking.
The location. It was in the centre of Upton and had adequate parking.
I think the breakfast could have offered more fresh fruit and offered plain Greek yoghurt
Central location
Nothing
The food, the location.
Expensive, tiny room, window wouldn’t open and it was very warm, bathroom tiny, you could hear every word they were saying next door and also every word on their tv. Toilet was dirty with someone else’s poo in it!
Great location for our requirements
Nothing
Great location, lovely friendly staff, fantastic breakfast
Room was extremely tired, small and not very nice really. In desperate need for refurbishment, even the wallpaper was hanging off the wall. Shower acceptable. Room very hot, had to leave the window ms open as no other form of ventilation.
Room was clean, bed comfortable
Choose the Hotel as it had car parking, but car park very small and already full when I arrived, after a bit of driving round I parked on the road, turning right opposite, also car park in this road, feel it might be worth Hotel emailing you the location of near by car parks.
Food stopped being served at 7.30pm, I arrived at 8pm, but there is a nice Pizza place a few doors up, or an Indian,
Our memories of this hotel in the 60s and 70s were of a delightful & upmarket place to stay.
We were very disappointed both by the shabbiness of the room, & by the disinterest of the staff. We were spoken to, but only if we instigated the conversation. There was no polite welcome, ‘good morning’ or goodbye when we left.
Our tv remote didn’t work & the room & en-suite could certainly have been cleaner. There were no hooks or rails for towels in the bathroom & nowhere to put a washbag.
The scruffy wardrobe had a few mismatched hangers & a broken one.
When we came to leave, we found some workmen at the hotel had set up right next to our car & were cutting wood with an industrial saw. Our car was completely covered in sawdust! They were quite rude when we commented on it just telling us it would wash off. While my husband cleaned off the windows & windscreen so that we could see to drive I went back into the hotel. When I explained what had happened I was told they were joiners and ‘they’ll be gone soon’!
The whole experience at the White Lion was at best mediocre, and certainly not cheap. We won’t be back.
Bed was comfy
Room rather shabby & very dated. Tv control didn’t work. Staff didn’t seem very interested, only spoke if you spoke first.
When we left they had workmen cutting wood in the car park next to our car which was covered in wood dust. No apologies from workmen who said it’ll wash off when it rains! Hotel staff were not interested although did manage a ‘sorry, they’ll be gone soon’! We had to clean off all the windows before we could see to drive. Disappointing stay.
Room was well furnished and the bed was very comfortable, hotels location in the centre of town couldnt have been better with good parking
the breakfast menu was good although the cooking could have been better
Great staff, beautiful room and great location
Nice Village.
Room was very warm, window opened a bit, had to have door open to get a draft. I dont think its value for money, small hot room over £100.
Good sized room, lots of character if in need of a bit of tlc.
Good location
Friendly girl on breakfast who was doing a very good job.
Very slow service on check in. No bell to ring so had to seek out staff member who was busy chatting.
Lovely breakfast !. Friendly staff.
Absolutely nothing
Everything , they went above and beyond , made perfect memories for us
