great hotel in the centre of town nice staff and comfortable room
Pros:

Room was well furnished and the bed was very comfortable, hotels location in the centre of town couldnt have been better with good parking

Cons:

the breakfast menu was good although the cooking could have been better

Old fashioned characterful hotel with mixed service
Pros:

Good sized room, lots of character if in need of a bit of tlc.
Good location
Friendly girl on breakfast who was doing a very good job.

Cons:

Very slow service on check in. No bell to ring so had to seek out staff member who was busy chatting.

Room was very warm, window opened a bit, had to have door open to get a draft. I dont think its value for money, small hot room over £100.

Lovely stay clean tidy and great location.

We didn’t order breakfast but came down the next morning and asked for a coffee, quite prepared to pay and the staff advised. no sorry I cant serve you, even though at the time there was one table of 2. Had to go overthe road to Henry’s fab breakfast and lush coffee.

Place is a little tired looking with mould in places, but that didn't ruin our stay, just an observation.

Staff lovely but wouldn’t stay again

Location good. Staff very professional & friendly . Food good

Cons:

Room & bathroom had odd smell, some lights didn’t work, no heating, coffee facilities poor, room cramped. Felt a lot of money for what you were provided with.

Nice reasonable price hotel, with friendly staff but need to do something about the food

The hotel and staff were good, friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The food options were very poor, we had an issue when booking a table, they only served food until 8.pm so they made it VERY clear that if we hadn’t sat down and placed orders by 7.45 we would not be fed, so we went with it and were in the bar for 7.15, looked at menus and started to order about 7.30. This was ok for the service but a lot of what was on the menu wasn’t available, we ordered 3 steaks, to be told only have 1 steak, pies were off - there was a long list. One of our party wanted to go elsewhere but we continued with other choices. The final result was a very mediocre meal.

We used the hotel because it was fairly local to the Showground.
Pros:

Very pleasant stay, staff helpful and hotel very handy for the Three counties showground,

Cons:

We did not arrive until late afternoon so the hotel car park was full and so parked in the High st.
