Lovely location, overlooking the market square, very clean, and comfortable spacious room, couldn’t have asked for more,we stayed for evening meal and it was delicious and proper portions,,the same for breakfast the next morning,we will definitely be going back, even made our little dog feel welcome.
There was nothing not to like
Perfect location , cosy, staff very attentive and friendly . Dog friendly . Good food and breakfast . Large room .
Room a little tired but acceptable as dog friendly
I thought it a little overpriced for what was on offer.
Lovey old fashioned pup
Frendly and help full staff
Great location, a very well appointed hotel and spacious room (number 3). As a Timothy Taylor owned pub it was well stocked with the classic Taylor beers, all were well kept.
Dinner was excellent, as was the service throughout the evening.
Location was excellent and the staff were great.
The room is not suitable for a family although we had a really nice bathroom there was absolutely no space to move around in the room and there was a sofa bed which was comfy but was really dangerous for the kids to be on as it's mechanics were not covered by anything and very easy to hurt yourself if you were not very careful and the kids put their hands in the hinges several times and the baby slipped off the edge of the mattress and got his legs scuffed because he had slipped onto the hinges and springs.
Would of been fine for adults to stay in the room but not child friendly atall
Everything was brilliant! Always is
Look this place is lovely and the area is too, but it’s not worth the price and I wouldnt stay again due to the awful banging that went on until 11pm I would say.
Stayed with a child and fully expected to hear noise from the pub below but not constant banging all evening for around £122. Thank god shes a heavy sleeper and it didn’t disturb her because she had an important day filming today. It really was awful to sit in the room and hear that for hours, no idea what it was but I don’t think it’s acceptable I’ve never experienced that before anywhere.
Good value for money ,staff lovely great location and great choice of beer stayed here on a number of occasions
Room 1 a little small but ok not the best view of the flat roof and ventilation but couldn’t be helped .The rooms at the front would be much better ,Didn’t sleep the best due to the non maintained emergency light INSIDE the bedroom with the very bright green LED light on and did disturb our sleep
A beautiful traditional pub with an excellent menu . Our room was large yet very cosy. Excellent location
Nothing to dislike
It was very bijou and atmospheric, friendly yet relaxed.
The Green emergency light in the bedroom was rather bright - don’t pick this room if you can’t sleep with an extractor fan sound all night.
The character and friendly staff
N/A
Excellent food and staff. Bags of character
Pillows! Very hard and bot comfortable
All good.
Eggs Benedict for breakfast should come with bacon, not ham. The green light on the ceiling of the room was a bit annoying.
Dinner was enjoyable and waiting staff excellent
Breakfast was disappointing, toast ordered which came already buttered and cut and served on a plate. Eggs Benedict very disappointing, cold ham served on a Warburtons muffin. Timothy Taylor's Landlord awful, Tetleys Original brilliant
Very good selection
More thought to people with disabilities, on stairs hand rail both sides
