An adequate pub/hotel in a busy Coniston
Pros:

At £147 for one night (including x2 breakfast) this was the cheapest of the 3 pub/hotel I booked this week. It was situated in the middle of Coniston village. It’s basically a busy pub with rooms upstairs. The room was small and clean. The linen and general fittings were fine and there was tea, coffee and a kettle.

Cons:

It’s basically a busy pub with rooms upstairs. The ‘cupboard’ toilet-and-shower was very small. The major failing of the pub/hotel was the wifi – in the upstairs bedroom it was 1 bar at most, very slow to load and FT was not really possible. Not really good enough in the 21st Century. The fried breakfast was poor – the poached eggs were soft but cold! as were the baked beans (which I asked to be re-heated).

Excellent staff made it very enjoyable and worked their socks off , however the owner should invest a bit of money into
Pros:

It was in a great location , the staff were absolutely amazing and couldn’t do enough for us even with us having a dog .. they made us feel very very welcome, although I would say the room felt a bit dated and could have done with a touch up to make it feel nicer and more welcoming ..
but again the staff were amazing and deserve all the praise for our time there ..

Cons:

A little out dated and could have even done with a carpet clean and lick of paint ..

We were waking the Cumbria Way up from Ulverston so the location was really good friendly staff who did their best durin
Pros:

Great central location

Cons:

We were there in an extremely busy evening over bank holiday weekend, so food ran out before we were able to eat. Dishes like fish & chips and the wood-fired oven pizzas looked great though.

Fanastic staff who really looked after us
Pros:

Loved our stay at the Yewdale Inn. Great central location in Coniston with the lake in easy walking distance. Room was a good size, all the facilities we needed and bed was really comfy. Food was superb with a good choice of cooked breakfast and plenty of options for evening meal including a Sunday roast menu. What made our stay here was the staff who were excellent and really looked after us despite it being super busy (warm and sunny bank holiday weekend). Will definitely return!

Cons:

Nothing not to like.
