Great overnight stay, with easy parking and comfy bed!
Pros:

Great location, easy parking, nice newly decorated room with comfy bed and room had everything required, including USB plugs, tea/coffee making facilities, toiletries, and nice towels. Room was on top floor with a great view along the main street.

Cons:

Breakfast was a little disappointing, had the cooked breakfast, which was okay, but seemed to be very cheap ingredients used for the sausage, black pudding, bacon, etc. Would be better to have local butcher meat, or slightly more expensive products used. The 3 grilled cherry tomatoes were very good, so was happy with those!

Good cosy stay.
Pros:

The rooms were good. Staff were good. But they seemed too be working in the bar more than anywhere else. Which is understandable given the location. Staff were helpfull aswell.

Cons:

Location if you dont drive. Also didnt like that we had no signs too hang outside our doors when cleaners came in. That was a bit anoying. It was also a bit loud when the bars full down stairs. The room i was staying in was very loud. You could hear people talking outside untill very late. But youd expect that. Given theres a bar down below.

Comfortable stay
Pros:

Very large comfortable room with tea, coffee, water and biscuit tray. All toiletries. Jacuzzi bath as well as walk in shower. Lovely full breakfast.

Cons:

No hairdryer in room.

We travelled for a funeral. The hotel was perfect for what we needed.
Pros:

Ideal location
The staff were lovely
Breakfast was great
The bar in the evening was good. The bar man very helpful.

Cons:

Cobwebs in room
Bathroom very dated. Light around mirror did not work.

There was a dog on the room next door which barked throughout the night so sleep was quite difficult!

Lovely hotel.Breakfasts slightly disappointing
Pros:

Nice hotel. Great location in the town centre. Lovely room

Cons:

Breakfasts were ok but not great.

We had an issue with payment through no fault of the hotel - I’d paid through Booking.com & got a receipt but the hotel weren’t sent the correct details. The manager raised a complaint against me even though it was Booking.com’s problem. I sorted it out & got no thanks or acknowledgment from the hotel.

Pros:

I have come away from my night away absolutely exhausted with lack of sleep and feel that some good will would be good
Pros:

The hotel it’s self was lovely clean, cosy rooms

Cons:

I was put in a room above the bar with music playing and loads of noise until 1am, I spoke to manager about this and now looking at some of the reviews it seems to be a problem, as the hotel wasn’t busy the could have used common sense and not use that room

Hotel and staff good , food very disappointing
Pros:

Property was good , staff were excellent

Cons:

Unfortunately we had a family meal in the hotel there were 11 of us ,
And u have never been so disappointed , we waited an hour for our first coarse and the quality was terrible , I complained in the morning

Haughton Arms in September
Pros:

Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent. No complaints with the evening meals. Room had everything we needed and bed was very comfortable. Recommended.

Cons:

Honestly got nothing to say here. Ok, the shower was small and the shower clamp had given up the ghost but these are minor issues in the greater scheme of things.
