Pros:

Location was excellent, short walk from the pier and shopping centre. Free parking directly outside the hotel if you are lucky which we were.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful
Breakfast was superb

Cons:

Building has become very shabby since we first visited. Room was clean, but pillows were very thin and uncomfortable. Bathroom needed an extremely deep clean and the shower curtain needed throwing away.

Post House experience
Pros:

Hotel was clean, well equipped, with lovely staff. The manager rescued my mum who got locked in her room, twice. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere and the breakfast was plentiful and well cooked.

Cons:

The hotel does not provide an evening meal. Cheung provide limited catering on Sundays (Roasts) and Street food Thursday to Saturdays. It would be nicer to have proper dinners offered daily.

The Post House
Pros:

Brilliant location. Breakfasts very good. Outside caterer did a great Sunday lunch. Staff were lovely. Hotel was clean and tidy.

Cons:

Hotel was old and a bit run down. Housekeeping was not great. We requested another hand towel and bath mat but were told they usually only provided one hand towel between you but we could have them if we wanted. We didn't get either. Bins were emptied daily and toilet rolls replaced. Tea tray was replenished daily but didn't leave biscuits the last few days. Bed was never made. Wash handbasin was too small to have a wash in, not helped by the fact that there was a shelf above it so couldn't lean over it.
There was no coffee bar as advertised. Coffee machine in bar was switched off at 6pm.
Outside caterer only did food Thursday to Sunday so nothing Monday to Wednesday.
Not sure we would stay there again.

Cons:

We were given a room with a spring mattress that was completely worn out. The shower has just one tap for both temperature and pressure, but it’s very poorly adjusted: if you wanted hot water, you got a jet like a pressure washer.
On the last day, they didn’t even come to tidy the room, change the towels or restock the tea. They didn’t even come into the room.
Breakfast was included, but it’s served from 8am to 10am: on the last two days we needed to leave at 7am for excursions and, despite asking for an alternative, we weren’t given anything.

This treatment, despite the 5 nights we’d booked, was really poor.

Pros:

Location fantastic

Cons:

John, the receptionist, bar tender glass collector and all round only staff member behind the bar when we came to sign in. He was friendly but definitely run off his feet on a glorious bank holiday Monday.

Pros:

Hotel was very clean and inviting.
Stayed for 3 nights, John and the team couldn't do enough for us and made our stay enjoyable.
Would highly recommend for a short break.

Cons:

Suggestion around location of plug socket location within rooms. Required within bathroom.

Showers could do with an update also.

Pros:

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Post House. The location was unbeatable—just a short walk to the beach, plus easy access to fantastic restaurants and bars. I was also blown away by the cleanliness of the entire hotel—my room was spotless and smelled amazing, which made the stay so cozy. Not just the room, but the entire building—reception, bathrooms—everything was immaculate. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing, convenient getaway."
