Rooms at the front facing down the hill need blinds or curtains. Good value. Excellently located
Pros:

Clean, comfortable bed, superbly quiet. Good value. Good car parking. Excellently located.

Cons:

No breakfast nor option for such, although tea and kettle provided in the rooms. Had to find the radiator knob to turn it on. Turning on room heat in advance of guests' arrivals would be a good idea. One room was grey, and my colleague found it fine, but the other room was painted white with no curtains or blinds, on a hill with huge window so with full daylight from dawn onwards, making sleep difficult in the early morning. Fine in winter.

Great value super clean hotel with lovely staff and free parking
Pros:

While the hotel may be a little dated in places, it was spotlessly clean, and the room had everything I needed.

The receptionist was super friendly and made me feel welcome.

It’s a short walk into the city centre (20 - 25 minutes) and as a single female traveller I felt completely safe.

I’d definitely recommend this over more pricey hotels closer to the city centre.

Cons:

Nothing - great value for the money.

Quiet and comfortable
Pros:

Breakfast was not available due to refurbishment, but the staff were very friendly and pointed us in the direction of the nearby coffee shops and breakfast bars. The actual building was beautiful.

Cons:

The hotel was very quiet and it was tricky to get hold of any staff members. The hairdryer didn't but I couldn't find anyone to maybe offer us another hairdryer, so we just had to go out with wet hair.

Cold and drafty room
Pros:

The location was fine and the employees where friendly.

Cons:

The room did not have any heating available and the bed was right under the window that was poorly insolated so the entire night it was super drafty and cold and since I could not heat the room in any way I was not able to sleep at all.

Good independent hotel.
Pros:

Booked the self contained flat option ( only cost a couple of pounds more than standard room). Lovely warm room with mini fridge and microwave. Small seating area outside bedroom and nice bathroom. Good location, approx 10 mins to city centre depending on traffic - £6/7 for taxi. Would certainly stay again

Huge Compliments!
Pros:

The woman at reception was warm and welcoming, the facilities were new and renovated, the whole experience was more than exceptional and without a shadow of doubt we will stay here again.

Horrible and horrific
Pros:

Extremely terrible.. i felt so unsafe,,front desk lady was so rude, there’s no reception staff at night, and no room phone., i just left after a night as i felt so uncomfortable and unsafe and they didn’t refund me my whole amount for a week.

Pros:

Hotel clean, staff polite and friendly. Plenty of parking spaces. close to city centre.
