food was great, lovely breakfast freshly cooked and hot . Staff were friendly and helpful we were able to check in at 1.30 - and parking is free.
bed was a bit hard for me, and the curtains didn't fit properly so very light. The shower had no power at all the fixed head was fitted too high so the water was just a trickle - not really an issue for a one night stay.
The breakfast was exceptional. A range of buffet options available in addition to a large cooked breakfast. We also had an evening meal which again was a huge portion and delicious.
The staff were incredibly friendly, informative and always on hand.
The room was spotless and the view from our window overlooked Buttermere and the surrounding fells.

The property was in a perfect location, the staff were so lovely especially the lady at breakfast this morning.
Not the hotels fault but staying during a heat wave was tough as there’s no draught in the rooms
Walking distance to the lake, really comfortable seating for dinner and the bar, nice hot water and good pressure, great tv channels.
Great little inn right on Buttermere Lake with a beautiful waterfall walk right behind the property. Lovely pub and dining experience just downstairs with exceptionally kind staff. Big bathroom with very nice shower and skylight. Great parking and location in town with walking access to shops and cafes. Authentic Lake District experience.
Rooms are a bit dated and you can tell the old carpet has been walked on by many wet hikers. Fresh paint and carpet would go a long way.
Stunning location and views. Excellent check in times and parking facilities. Staff were exceptionally friendly and competent and put me at ease as a single female traveller. Great room and comfortable bar.
There was nothing I didn't like. It would have been improved by having umbrellas in the beer garden though there was some shade from trees.
