Lovely location and very friendly staff. The pool and spa was great and food very good. Good cocktails too!
Nothing really, it was a good overnight stay.
Lovely location and clean
Dated & tired , stains on the chairs . Bar staff changed the prices for the drinks even though ordered same !! We were charged £1.00 on arrival advising it would be returned which it hasn’t !! How many more visitors do they charge £1.00 ??
Unfortunately we only stayed one night instead of two because it wasn't what we expected.
Nowhere on my Booking.com booking did I see it stated that my 13 and 15yr old children could not use the pool after 5pm and that they could not use the gym or sauna at all. This was why we booked! For a "wellness weekend" to round off half term! I also didn't like the room, it smelled dusty and an unpleasant smell that may have been from newly laid lino which had perhaps recently replaced carpet. Only heating was from a Dyson fan heater on full blast when we arrived, so room very warm but smelled dank. I would query whether the Dyson needed a filter change. I dislike fan heaters and was unhappy this was the only method of heating. Perhaps it may be acceptable as a cool fan in the summer, but in winter it just blows dust around and smells. Only one towel on arrival but reception arranged for more. Restaurant and food nice but very expensive. Overall, lovely staff but they are let down by some rooms and facilities which gave the impression of being maintained and refurbished on the cheap. And please update Booking.com so that its clear prior to arrival that under 16's cannot use the gym at all (even supervised by an adult), and make clear the restricted hours they can use the pool during school holidays. It was such a shame, we arrived at 4pm, by the time we had eaten in the restaurant it was 7pm when we arrived at the pool which was open till 9pm. Only one person in it and one person poolside, yet we weren't allowed in. If I had known prior to payment I would never have booked. Back in our room we had to resort to the devices we thought we would have a break from(!) but found even the internet wasn't very strong and my children couldn't connect their Nintendos. We left in the morning after 1 night as it was too late to go home the previous evening, hotel refunded us on request for the second night but I didn't feel the first night was worth £191 plus £73 for dinner, given the issues.
The relaxation
Nothing to dislike
A good selction at breakfast and friendly staff .
The evening meal was good value at two courses for £25
Some parts of the hotel are looking a bit tired.
The costume spinner in the ladies changing rooms of spa was not working.
Staff were so pleasant and helpful
Rooms here are always good, this time, my room had an exceptional view as well.
The Leisure suite is well run and has a pretty decent size pool for a hotel.
Location ideal for me and picturesque on the creek.
I WISH THE POOL OPENED AT 7.00. I often can't swim before breakfast and leaving.
As usual in hotels, bread toaster not widely efficient, BARELY TOASTED TODAY. There is always a lot of staff on at breakfast, could they not offer TOAST!!
Lovely breakfast with lots of choice. Loved the birthday platter that was left for me.
Excellent location
Very tired. Cold. Tv did not work. Bathroom fan on constantly. Furniture shabby. Needs updating.
Breakfast was lovely,great location,good facilities,staff lovely
First room I got put in was under construction work, plaster all in the bath, shower on the floor, extractor fans off the wall, had to carry luggage back to reception that seemed miles away giving I am disabled, was then given the room opposite so had to walk all the way back, tried to have a bath and my plug didn't fit the bath, called recently who sent housekeeping down, lovely girl brought me 3 different plugs, none of them fitted,I was then given keys to another room a few doors up,where myself and my daughter had to bath in the smallest bath I've ever seen, this was not ideal carrying our stuff along to another cold unused room just to be able to get cleaned up then head back to our own room down the corridor in our pajamas,as I went to close our curtains I was greated with mould over the windows, mould over the plastic and lots of black dirt,at this point I had had enough and was to knackered to complain, can't say I'll be back in a hurry, will attach photos,a refund would be appreciated.
Nice modern hotel good warm swimming pool. Meal in restaurant excellent.
All good.
Room was nice, but cold portable heater was provided. Booked a harbour view, but over looked the car park. You have to stand at the window and look to the lft to see a view.
Evening meal was disappointing ( I have allergies) so no starters were available to me (even pate my go to starter had nuts in it ) only thing available was a steak at £32. Which was under seasoned and tough. The waitress was very good trying to find me something to eat but chef kept saying no she can't have it . Breakfast was no better, self service, all cold, scrambled eggs which is all i had.Had something green in them so didn't eat them Day 2 I just had a croissant just to have some food.
My husband who has no allergies didn't eat his steak. For the same reasons, but did have a cooked breakfast both days 1st day said it was cold second day said it was better, but still poor. Lots of staff walking about clearing tables shame no one could cook a desent breakfast. Second evening we went to a restaurant near by, also noted that there were quiet a few people from the hotel in the same restaurant as us that evening aswell.
The location is excellent, quiet and lovely views. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was first class.
Some of the communal areas are in need of a little renovation, warn carpets, flaking paint.
The room was lovely and spacious, nice bathroom and excellent restaurant and bar. Breakfast was excellent.
Our dinner was amazing and so so tasty.
The heating in the breakfast room was unbearable, we left with our coffee because we couldn’t handle the heat, we were wearing t-shirts and jeans but could’ve been in shorts and it still would’ve been too hot.
