A very happy stay.
Pros:

The breakfast was excellent, main meal served with a very pleasant and cheerful lady. Plenty of choice.
When first arrived, I thought it would be very noisy at night , but it wasn’t. All the staff and customers smiled and were sociable. Made us feel welcomed. The room was clean.

Cons:

The bed was rather firm at first but a quilt placed under the bottom sheet softened it. As an OAP and a side sleeper a firm mattress would and has done in the past make my hips very sore and painful. So perhaps an extra blanket or quilt left in the bedroom would be helpful.

Staff were lovely and helpful, everything was spotless.

Cons:

Music in bar, unfortunately started at 7am when staff were prepping for breakfast and cleaning etc, and went on till 11pm. This could be heard in rooms above the bar and if windows in room were left open could hear the music from the speakers that were outside. Otherwise everything else was brilliant

Pros:

The staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Poached eggs cooked to perfection. The location was ideal for spending two days walking around Walney Island. The room was very hot but I was given a fan which cooled it down just fine.

Cons:

The single bed was very uncomfortable. People had been sitting on the side of the bed depressing the springs. This gave the bed a lean which made it very uncomfortable.

Excellent hotel, friendly staff and very convenient
Pros:

The King Alfred was ideally placed for us as we were walking the coastal paths of Walney. The room was very clean, there were sockets next to the bed and the shower room was excellent. Ample choice of teas and coffees and bottled water. Breakfast was good and the evening meal was very tasty.

There was nothing I disliked

Pros:

I recently stayed at the King Alfred Hotel and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The hotel was clean, welcoming, and very well maintained. The staff were absolutely amazing—friendly, professional, and genuinely eager to help.

The breakfast was perfect, with a great selection and excellent quality.

What really stood out was the kindness and flexibility shown by the team. My brother and I had travelled to Walney due to a family emergency and had requested twin beds. When this wasn’t available, the hotel went above and beyond by offering us another room free of charge, which was incredibly generous and greatly appreciated during a difficult time.

I honestly couldn’t speak more highly of the King Alfred Hotel. Their outstanding customer service, comfortable accommodation, and willingness to help made a challenging situation much easier. I would not hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Pros:

Great location, this is the 3rd time (?) I've stayed there.

Cons:

Whilst there is an extensive cooked breakfast menu, the "continental" cold offerings could do with improvement. Some fruit would be an easy addition and any not used can be utilised in the kitchen.

Pros:

We thought that the room was very comfortable, clean, and fresh. The bed was very comfortable!

The hotel is in a great location and is beautifully decorated, bonus being it also has lots of parking!!

Breakfast was absolutely outstanding and every member of staff we encountered was excellent.

Cons:

Unfortunately the water temperature was a little on the hot side and there was a lot of noise late into the evening 😕
