Relaxing quality
All good
Convenient location. Nice grounds. Room spacious, with nice bathroom. Comfortable bed.
Breakfast ok with good service but a little too much oil!
The suite was good. The reception staff who welcomed was excellant. Even when busy and overwhelmed with some guests who were attending a marriage in the hall, she made sure we get a proper car parking slot and walked us through the suite features including hot tub. They also provided some complimentary snacks, etc in the mini fridge.
It was a memorable stay on the whole.
The toilet flush was not having enough water pressure. Also the cleaning staff had left it with some cleaner liquid which they forgot to wash off. Otherwise it was a great experience for us.

Made a mean old fashioned in the lovely bar, beautiful outdoor area as well and weather luckily very good. Highly recommend this boutique hotel.
The location, environment, food and room were exquisite.
Lesley the manager on duty during the evening of 19.07.26. I spoke to the manager James prior to my departure this morning to raise my concerns.
Upon arrival the manager was kurt, concerned with her health issues over everthing..
During my last visit in December, the staff, food and enironment were all on point. Unfortunately this visit, the staff who were younger were being micromanaged by this manager and she tried micromanaging guests. I experienced this firsthand. The team couldn't complete their sentences, without her finishing them. Conversations were stunted and the team appeared stressed. One male team member spoke back, the tension was heightened.
Not such a great stay, but hopefully this manager will learn from this, and appreciate the staff a little more. Understanding this behaviour is not what guests need to experience.
Lovely location, friendly staff, renovated property and excellent chef (dinner).
Friendly but inexperienced staff, particularly during dinner service. Cocktail /lounge bar lacked seating or ambience.
I loved the friendly service and the size of the rooms, which were large. Everything was clean and the hotel is very comfortable. The breakfast was very good and you have a great choice of dishes, all freshly cooked to order, aswell as fruit, juice, cereal and yoghurt.
We could not open the window in our room so it was rather hot. There was a fan in the room but some ventilation would have been preferred. Our friends were able to open their window. It was a shame that noone could tell us whether you can reach the hotel by bicycle without riding on the 70mph A1 road. It turns out you can. There's a path that runs up the southbound side of the A1 as far as the hotel which is far safer.
