Lovely pub/hotel for a stopover on Teesside.
Pros:

A superb pub/hotel on the fringe of Darlington centre. Close to Bank Top, the main Darlington Railway Station and a short walk from buses in the town centre that provide links to all parts of the North East.
Very comfortable, newly refurbished. Staff are very friendly and helpful, pub meals are good.

Cons:

Unfortunately no breakfast but there are plenty of opportunities in the station and town centre.

Comfortable stay close to the train station
Pros:

Fabulous location, close to the train station and central to Darlington. Clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff. It was a good choice for me, as a female solo traveller.

Cons:

Stairs to my upper level room were narrow and steep. Would be difficult for someone with mobility issues. Staff did help with luggage, though.

Pros:

Easy access to the town. Quiet location.
The bed was great - best nights sleep I've had in a hotel for ages.

Cons:

When I arrived I was given a room with no bed linen, but its a very minor 'complaint' because it was all resolved very quickly and with a laugh and a smile.
