Clean, nice, cosy, calm, quiet, very friendly atmosphere.
Close to everything you might need, but with a car - bike or motorbike.
Only no variety with TV channels 🙈
Room space is good, clean, with windows and small semi- terrace ( to smoke in air 🤗😉 )
All the stuff is amazing and friendly, helpful, and almost speaking English.
Lovely setting inside and nice terrace!! Menu did not correspond as to what was advertised on the social deal website! Very poor service indeed! Had to wait at least 15 minutes to be served! Restaurant wasn't busy so very surprised!
Good place for business matters (training, workshop, etc.), just in the middle of industrial area, some big companies are placed around there. Comfortable rooms, restaurant is pretty good if you order from the menu, self service food quality is on the average.
good hotel for business stay, especially to go to the test center that is very close.
In summer terrasse is enjoyable.
For the lunch, service is a bit slow.
People working here are nice and helpful
The name have been changed to Sternzeit
Breakfast is good
Right next to railway test centre so convenient for visitors, otherwise middle of nowhere location. Staff friendly and restaurant good choice for meat eaters only. Dont know if they do salads and lighter meals in summer. Rooms clean and facilities as expected for mid range hotel, but beds hard and pillows useless. Rather dimly lit, but this seems typical of german hotels. Wifi was very weak, next to useless in rooms.
arriving here i had the impression of a doll house.
nice little room so no chance to loose anything. having just a bed and a table.
no wardrobe to leave any clothes.
hostels offer more space!
the bathroom was as spacy as the bed room
Formally called the Esplanade but now called Hotel Sternzeit
First impressions after a long journey and checking in at midnight were very good. Unfortunately, they didn’t last long.
The night receptionist got us some drinks as the air was still and very hot, we were also quite thirsty. Our allocated room on the ground floor was nice, clean but didn’t have air con? (4* really?) The room had patio doors but we didn’t fancy leaving them open as we were well aware of roaming Wild Boar/Deer and other wildlife, consequently had a very uncomfortable sleep on hard beds and soft pillows. Breakfast was OK, nothing special and the water wasn’t hot enough to make a decent cup of tea.
We left our room twice the next day but by 5pm our room still hadn’t been made up so asked if it could be. The reply was ‘housekeeping don’t work at weekends!’ (4* really?) They did change our wet towels but if we hadn’t mentioned it, my guess is that they wouldn’t have bothered!
We were in and out of the hotel several times during our stay from Friday night to Sunday lunchtime but rarely saw anyone on reception. We had a few drinks beside the ‘beach and lagoon/lake’, call it what you will but it looked really grim and having watched the frogs jumping in and out upon arrival, not somewhere I would like to swim. At night, it attracted lots of mosquitoes!
There was a large wedding reception taking place in a marquee on the grounds. Seemingly, this is a regular occurrence during the summer months but the noise didn’t disturb us until we went to bed just after midnight as we assumed that it would soon finish. At 0130, I went to reception to ask how much longer I would need to endure the noise and was told for at least another hour! She also said she would get the music turned down but didn’t! I endured staff wheeling trollies of empty glasses rattling down the path and drunken guests shrieking outside the room on the walkway to reception! At around 03.15, I finally fell asleep through sheer exhaustion (thanks to the previous nights lack of sleep) and awoke on the morning of my birthday incredibly grumpy and very, very hot! It was akin to sleeping in a sauna.
Upon checkout, there were 2 ladies behind reception. One purported to be the owner and I discussed the issues regarding lack of aircon and was told it’s usual for a 4* but you could have had a fan (we weren’t offered one) , no tea/coffee making facilities……usual for a 4*, the noise…….we advise our guests of noise from weddings (we weren’t) and the lack of housekeeping (it was her weekend off??????)
I have since researched nearby hotels and sincerely wish I had done so prior to the trip as I would never choose to stay there again neither could I recommend it, I was really cross with my husband for not negotiating a discount. They should have paid US for staying there!
Thanks for ruining my birthday weekend, if I can take this further; trust me I will!
Arrived at hotel first impressions were it looked clean and modern. Check in was fine and the room was clean and modern. Had a drink before dinner and the bar staff were excellent, friendly and accomodating. The menu was a little light on options, but the food was poor.
We mentioned this to the owners a woman from the UK and her disabled husband, they were not so nice! I wasnt quite sure what the problem was but they assured us that it was a 4 star hotel and that what we got was 4 star food. They seemed very angry that we had complained about their hotel.
At night we were awakened by the sounds of trains!! It turns out that the hotel is built in the middle of a giant train testing facility!!! Infact one of the lines actually runs 10meters to the side of the hotel....Lets just say the sleep wasnt great. The train noises stopped around 3am but at 5.30am the parrot started...Yup I did say parrot..They have a pet parrot which shreeks itself to hell every morning...
We thought that we would mention this to the owners when we checked out...We wish we hadnt bothered...They were lets just say a little rude!
In the car park another guest said he also had complaints about the owners. Not sure why they were so angry but it ruined the begining of our holiday.
In short it would be a great place for train spotter who dont complain
Many amenities. Woule be fantastic in summer with a beach and pool. Food wonderful, room spacious and very clean. Staff friendly and welcoming.
