Great location, confusing instructions

Location is perfect and close to everything, lake, old town, restaurants, train station

Cons:

The instructions were given the day of the arrival, which was too late in my opinion. Also it isnt clear when there is reception available (on booking.com at least). Self check in is quite common these days so usually it works fine- in this case it wasn’t clear though until the day of arrival, plus when you do self check in it isnt clear where your room is (it doesnt say what floor) so we were wandering around. Plus you dont get the Green Card which offers discounts if you do self check in- and reception is only between 9-11 am. The room was spacious but there were a lot of hair everywhere. Parking is like 400 m in a parking garage but be careful to go to the right one (Parkhaus West).

Pros:

Ein sehr schönes Hotel in zentraler Lage von Überlingen. Die Zimmer sind großzügig geschnitten, sauber und verfügen über ein modernes Bad. Besonders angenehm ist, dass Kaffee jederzeit kostenlos zur Verfügung steht. Die gemütliche Terrasse lädt zum Verweilen und Entspannen ein. Das Hotel ist zwar eher klein, hat aber einen ganz besonderen Charme. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist hervorragend. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen!

My main issue with this property is that the facilities description is not *entirely* truthful. Booked this hotel because it has a secure parking garage as I am on a motorcycle with luggage/accessories and security is important. The host disclosed on the day of check in motorcycles are not accepted in the garage and this wasn’t their decision. This in itself is completely fine, however, the host does not say this on the advert. They offered ‘suitable alternatives’, which I’ll post below but these were completely not a replacement for a secure garage. The town was busy, the car parks were open and a walk from the hotel so I felt like I was mis-sold something and because of how late I found this out had to look for alternative accommodation and the hotel refuses to accept any responsibility.

Do they have a garage? Yes. Can everyone use it? No. Is this clear at booking? No.

If I booked a hotel because it had a pool and then found out I couldn’t use it but they offered a bath it would be the same principle.

I’ll attach photos as I assume the host will retort and claim it was a suitable alternative, which if you look at these compared to a garage I cannot comprehend they are like-for-like alternatives.

The secure park with the barrier is not secure for bikes - you could easily exit without accessing the barrier.

Anyways, If you’re a biker I’d stay clear of this place and even if not for what it is it was very expensive. Managed to get somewhere €30 cheaper, secure parking and in a better location.

Booking pursued a refund but need clarification from the hotel and they refuse so also beware that this could cause an issue for you. I’m having to pursue a different method to retrieve my funds for an mis-sold product.

I can’t comment on much else as I didn’t stay there but for the money from the outside it looked rundown. On our trip we stayed in places half the price that were stunning.

Eigentlich war alles ok, wenn der Verlust nicht gewesen wäre.
Pros:

Sehr zentral gelegen, grosse Zimmer, Fahrräder sicher aufbewahrt.

Cons:

2 std nach dem auschecken haben wir festgestellt, dass wir das Handy liegen gelassen haben. Nun - es wurde nicht wieder gefunden.

Immer wieder gerne, für eine Zwischenübernachtung oder ein Nacht am See. 😁

Sehr gute Lage, wenn man direkt am See sein will, Parkhaus fussläufig. Sehr nette und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Kaffee (lecker) und kleiner Snack wie beschrieben vorhanden.
