Cheap but don’t expect *** or ****
Pros:

Very handy for the places we needed to get to

Cons:

Property needs updating, only breakfast available, rooms smell damp, hairdryer advertised by not there ironing board but no iron. The manager did everything reception cooking etc could be lovely if further investment was secured….

Good hotel if you are on a budget and want to get away from the big chain hotels
Pros:

Auld Mill is an established property that provides a good quality of service for an excellent price. The King Size room was well decorated with modern fixings and ensuite shower room. TV was a little small by current standards but perfectly functional. Addition of breakfast again was fine with a limited choice but what was prepared was good quality food and plenty of it. I would stay there again if I am in the area again.

Cons:

Breakfast starts at 7:30 could be an issue for those needing to start work earlier. It was not a big problem for me but worth being aware of.

Ok for the money
Pros:

Exit and entry to the property via key was simple and easy - clean and basic

Cons:

The long driveway into the property was narrow and difficult to access from a very busy main road - the driveway was in a very poor condition with lots of significant pot holes which made it difficult to navigate and was very hard on the car’s suspension - walking this stretch was hazardous especially in the dark as it was unlit - bed was uncomfortable and needs replacing, the mattress was saggy and had lost its shape - noisy corridors and floors - cracked toilet which seemed dangerous
