We will be changing to the Red Lion for ours visits to Portsmouth.
Pros:

Great location near local shops which was very handy. Really nice pub with good food, and friendly staff. Clean rooms that were serviced every day.

Cons:

Minor point, but the fan in the bathroom was so noisy and went on far too long after you switched the light off.

Comfortable, welcoming and helpful staff, good value.
Pros:

Room was comfortable, the pub was great for the location and staff were very welcoming and helpful. Good value and great service.

Cons:

Nothing really. For what I paid it was good value, clean, and just what I needed for accommodation whilst I explored the local area.

Overall a lovely stay, staff in particular lovely.
Pros:

Lovely welcome, nice to have a small seating area for staying guests. Excellent service.

Cons:

Breakfast was generous but a bit too oily for my tastes. It would be nice to have some simpler options eg beans on toast.

Nice staff and good value
Pros:

The location was perfect for our needs. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to use the bar area downstairs. It was basic but comfortable and very good value for money. The bedrooms were quiet despite being very close to a main road.

Pros:

The rooms are extremely comfortable and have everything you would require, when I checked in the lady on the desk noticed I used a walking stick and moved my booking to a closer room which was greatly appreciated. The staff overall are great and the vast majority of their time they are rushed off their feet as they also work in the pub/restaurant which is very popular, the pub is also great for a relaxing pint of Guinness. I would 100% recommend, in fact I am staying there again next week.

Had an enjoyable stay, nice accommodation and a decent pub
Pros:

Nice breakfast, clean room, comfortable bed. Good tv although we didn’t switch it on. Excellent shower and ensuite, kept immaculately so obvs a good housekeeping team.

Cons:

Rooms are average size, no room for a chair or fridge. A little larger would be nice if we were spending more time in the room.
