Location
The ant infestation in the shower - when we informed reception in the morning they offered no real apology or even a coffee.
Average
Slipped and fell over after coming out the shower. There was no hand rail. I am a 79 year old pensioner.Tumpled down 2 steps. Fortunately nothing was broken. I phoned the hotel next day, not to complain but to make them aware and to suggest they put a hand rail in the bathroom. The receptionist dismissed my comments, saying that it had not happened before in 10 years. End of conversation. Her dimissive comments wete enough to make me decide never to stay thete agaih, despite the fact that my son nd family live bery locally.
Outdoor patio, friendly staff, better than average food. We stayed over a weekend for a local wedding and managed to relax for the rest of the time
The couch seating in the dining area was tired and in need of a refurbishment.
Faultless !!!!
Nothing
Staff were very helpful and polite
Breakfast was not up to standard
Pleasant staff, decent accommodation and a very good breakfast of fresh fruit and croissant.
My dinner, billed as od and chips! The fish was served in a burnt batter and the chips were mostly raw and tasteless. The mushy peas weren't mushy but like rice grains, crumbly and dry.
It was by some margin the worst fish and chips I have been served anywhere Utterly awful and a disgrace for an institution that considers itself a 'premium pub venue'.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere. The food in the restaurant was tasty with large portion sizes. The staff were nice and friendly.
The restaurant had ran out of certain dishes.
The location was good. Food was very good. Staff were lovely and helpful.
The room was nice but not very clean. Huge stain on the carpet, stains on the bedding and the windows were filthy.
Although looking a little tired in places, overall it was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Room and beds really comfy, bathroom clean and fresh looking. Evening meal was outstanding as was the choice of food. Good choice for breakfast also. Set in beautiful grounds and only a 10-15 min walk to town.
The only thing I didn't like was the bacon was hard and tough at breakfast and the butter tasted a bit off.
