The facilities would benefit from updating. This said there’s food (both evening meal and breakfast) were excellent.
Pros:

A good location to access Glasgow.

Cons:

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room we were provided on the first night of our stay was very disappointing. When we raised the issue with the staff they kindly found us a much better room for nights 2 and 3.

Nice hotel with large garden. Staff and food good. Great garden centres within walking distance
Pros:

Hotel is in a very good location so it is easy to visit surrounding areas. The hotel has large gardens that are well maintained. We did not have breakfast, we did have dinner and the food and service was good. The room was a good size.

Cons:

The room was an upgrade from the standard room we had booked. We were disappointed with the upgrade to a supposed better room. The view from the window was of the air conditioners. The area was a mess. The windows handles were broken and in the very hot weather at this time we had a radiator that I could turn down but couldn't turn off.

3 star hotel, 5 star staff. Lovely building
Pros:

Ideal for a wedding reception we were going to, about 20 mins by car
The staff were lovely and the decor within the hotel was really nice...inviting and comfortable.
I enjoyed the cooked breakfast (the staff jokingly gasped with shock when I declined the haggis 😆) You pay extra for breakfasts which includes a hot breakfast, meat or meat free, cereal, yoghurt, juice, tea and coffee. Quite basic but it set us up for the day.
Plenty of parking spaces.

Cons:

Not so much dislikes but more a few things to bear in mind.
Our room was very warm when we arrived, couldn't really be helped with the weather in the UK at the time. The rooms aren't air conditioned but there was a fan in the wardrobe.
Just beware of some steps throughout the building...it's an old building, built in 1882. Some of the flooring is slightly different levels.
