Pros:

Staff molto gentile, accogliente e disponibile. Cibo molto buono e pulizia ottima. Ottima posizione per recarsi allo Skafell Pike.

Cons:

Unica nota negativa è il materasso che era ceduto e si sentiva molto l'asse di legno sottostante.

Pros:

Location was very good. For walking scafell pike . Breakfast and food was genuinely very good .

Cons:

Pub was incredibly busy . Come back from a long hike around 5pm . And struggle to get a table to eat. And stuck in a corner . There is a campsite near by so everyone from there goes there to eat. The food was excellent including the breakfasts especially the Cumberland sausages. But the menu was extremely poor you had the choice of about 5 things . There was NO steaks whatsoever. On the menu . No mixed grills , gammon , sirloin or even a simple bit of rump. Which I could not believe. Being as there was cattle absolutely everywhere. The glasses 🥂 too were dirty . And lots of flys 🪰 in the restaurant. Locals to drinking outside were quite noisy until closing time.

Great staff and great location. Would stay here again!
Pros:

Great location not far from Wast Water with stunning views of the hills and mountains. The Strands Hotel and Screes Inn make up the complex. We stayed in the Screes overnight and ate and drank in the Strands. The buildings are directly opposite each other and both 18th century buildings. The complex has an interesting history and plenty of charm. It is a quiet and remote accommodation with a feeling of community and comfort. The staff at the complex were amazing. They are polite, helpful and make you feel welcome and comfortable. Next day breakfast was included in the price, served until 0900. There is a choice of English breakfast, vegetarian breakfast, toast. Also served with tea, coffee, and juices.

Me and my friend stayed at the Screes Inn for a night as we were visiting the lake district for hiking. We enjoyed our time here and would definitely consider staying again next time we visit.

Cons:

Refreshment amenities in our room were basic and there were general signs of wear and tear in the room. However this would not stop us from visiting again. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Wonderful cozy stay
Pros:

Location is just amazing. The two wonderful ladies who take care of the property right from room allocation till food/dinner/drinks serving, all queries were addressed and answered by them so politely and they both and entire other staff members are extremely energetic and always on their tows.

We were 30 members of all ages and multiple families.
On second day of our stay we had planned trek to Scafell Pike, so we got all the required information.
They served us all the breakfast bit early for all of us so that we could start our trek well on time.

Would definitely recommend the stay here.

Awesome place
Pros:

Location and staff were ace as was the food and drink... Zero issues here. Personal joy was a super powerful shower great after a hike

Cons:

The room was small and got BUT we were there in 30 plus heat and this is a 16th century property so difficult to criticise too hard there. I'm sure in normal temps it's fine.
