breakfast and dinner were excellent as was the beer. The staff were helpful and friendly with a nice atmosphere in the bar made it a very enjoyable stay - I'd be in there every night if I was a local.
Room was dated but spotlessly clean, everthing worked and the bed felt like it had a good quality mattress and bedding so being a bit picky but fair I think.
Fantastic location- beautiful village and ideally located for Scarfell Pike.
Great pub, friendly staff , good place to stay
The hotel is going through a plan of improvement- loved the honesty of the owner, decor in bedrooms a little tired and could hear next door ( open windows due to hot weather)but the bed was comfortable, hot shower and friendly staff serving great food.
Very friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Great food too - good portions after long walk
All members of staff were very warm and friendly, especially Steve and Tom. The room was adequate for our 2 night stay. The ambience of the bar/dining area was great and allowed us to chat to fellow walkers/climbers and get to know a little. We'll definitely stay there again if in the area 😃

Our room needs some updating but they mentioned they are in the process of upgrading the Inn and are already part way through the project.

It wasn't the room shown in the photo but we knew it was the last one; decor was pretty tired; shower didn't drain properly; OK but uninspiring breakfast

Das was auf den Bildern in Booking abgebildet war hat leider absolut nicht der Realität entsprochen. Das Zimmer war komplett heruntergekommen (siehe Bilder)
We loved the restaurant and the staff working there! Everyone was so welcoming. The room was perfect for our short overnight stay!
