We stayed two nights and had a great time. The staff were friendly and very helpful, we ate both nights and had breakfast, all the food was excellent. We enjoyed the quiz night too. The place had a friendly welcoming atmosphere and we would happily come back and recommend to others

Cons:

It's maybe due a little (very little) make over, artex ceilings to go?

Great place to stay especially if visiting local sites
Pros:

Location was very good, the staff were friendly and very helpful. Quiet area no undue noise, great nights sleep in a very comfortable bed. The food was very good and tasty, and at a reasonable price. Excellent range of great quality beers and a huge range of other drinks.
Easy to get to, and close to Wast Water and Hardknott pass.

Great breakfast, friendly staff and great service but room and en-suite disappointing.
Pros:

Breakfast was amazing.

Cons:

Accommodation currently being redeveloped. Bathroom cleanliness - dirty grout in shower, plug chain in basin not working. These are little things but you notice them when you are paying. Flaking plaster in bathroom and bedroom. Bedroom curtains too thin - letting in light from exterior light (on all night) and insufficient in Summer. Toilet seat was wonky and needed fixing on arrival. No liner in bathroom bin. No extractor fan for shower, so had to leave window open. The staff left a complimentary card entitling me to a free drink which was nice. Sheets and bedding fine.

fit for purpose
Pros:

Efficient friendly service - chips are amazing, best ever. Food was exceptional at dinner, breakfast was enough to set you up for the day on the fells.

Cons:

the floor in the bedroom looked like it had not been vacuumed. Meant to mention it, but forgot, so it obviously was no bother.
