Beautiful hotel with great room and food
My room was clean and the food is great. Delicious breakfast.
This is an excellent place to stay. The staff is attentive and go above and beyond to help. The rooms are stylish and comfortable, with lovely big bathroom towels and great toiletries. We loved the bluetooth sound system throughout the room including the bathroom, enabling us to create the exact vibe we were after. Plenty of wardrobe space and two great, comfortable chairs to chill on. The bed was lovely and the pillows and bedding all top notch. Our room was said to have 'partial' river view but it was beautiful.
The hotel bar and restaurant areas were beautifully decorated and always seemed popular and with a good buzzy vibe - even on a rainy Sunday and Monday in March! They have a great drinks selection (including fab cocktails) and the food exceeded all expectations (we had breakfast and dinner - both amazing). We have very particular dietary requirements (including dairy free and gluten free) and it was clear that these had been communicated to the whole team before our arrival and Rachel, Paul, the chefs and the wider waiting staff all ensured we were taken care of and had plenty of menu choices. The attention to detail on this front was truly appreciated.
There is an understated humility about Y Seler but we would truly recommend you check it out ahead of other - possibly more well-known - establishments in Aberaeron.
There is plenty of parking in Aberaeron and we got a free spot very close to the hotel, however if you have mobility issues maybe the lack of on-site parking might affect you.
We noticed that an earlier review complained about a lack of vegan spread. It is clear that the hotel took this feedback on board because we were offered delicious vegan butter in a lovely small ramekin, just like dairy butter - fantastic.

No choice for Vegan breakfast was given a plate that the chef made up. They don’t know if I would like it or not. No vegan spread. Flora would suit everyone.

Excellent hotel - everything was great
I liked the attention taken in designing the room and the restaurant. On first view and interaction its unexpected luxury were wonderfully received.
The finish however did not hold beyond its first impression. The finishes were cracking and peeling, the bluetooth speaker system was both difficult to use and ultimately broken. The accessibility of the bathroom made it uncomfortable and unpleasant to use.
On requesting any vegan options (as while the evening menu clearly stated vegan choices, the breakfast menu did not) the member of staff replied “I never remember which one that is and after I began to explain how the veggie breakfast could be adapted, they stopped me mid sentence and frustrated they left to talk to the chef. They then did not return with any further information, the breakfast that arrived was pleasant but I would of preferred to be fed back to before ‘a vegan option’ was simply given to me.
I do not hold the staff responsible as much as their seemingly lacking training and support to understand dietary requirements of guests.

We just found there were too many little lights at night...TV, Bluetooth station, smoke alarm, plus 2 green lights in the ceiling, plus the main door to the bedrooms, close it earlier than 2230hrs alot of noise from bar area...but once closed all is good
