The reception are smelt lovely on arrival

This, for me, was a halfway stop on a very long road trip so I turned up late and left early. The room was well appointed and the bed comfortable
Classy reception decor and drinking water on tap at reception.

Finishing around the windows was very poor and unfinished.

Room doors opened onto the corridor: potentially dangerous to anyone walking outside a room!

Whilst it is dated internally this is reflected in the price but since a previous stay in Feb 2026 the place had deteriorated with cobwebs on the ceiling and a hole in the duvet cover.
Lack of facilities , there was previously a good ghurka restaurant on site but this is no longer there and whilst there is a bar area , it was empty with no obvious staff and as we unhelpfully had to go off site for food the bar was in complete darkness on our return at 9pm on a Friday evening. If you describe yourself as an Inn surely you are open on a Friday night.

Availability last minute for a reasonable price.
Net curtains had holes in & were shabby. Shower head was dirty. Room decor seemed tired. Expected slightly better for £110 a night.

Friendly staff, easy access to clean& comfortable rooms, had a great night's undisturbed sleep. Surrounding grounds made for a pleasant stroll. Restaurant looked clean and a pleasant environment, but we didn't eat there, so I can't comment on the food.
There was nothing not like about the hotel or it's surroundings.
Room was pleasant, and well equipped. Hotel looked the part on the whole. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel was in the middle of nowhere and did not serve evening meals. There wasn't a lift, you had to carry bags up stairs. in places the place was starting to look rundown.
