Pros:

I arrived at the Douglas Hotel after 100 miles in the saddle, 1/2 way thru the Chase The North bike ride from Whitley Bay. I was greeted by Jason, he was most welcoming and it was a relief he was able to stow my bike for me safe and sound at the back of the property. Jason showed me to my room at the back of the property, pleasantly cool and an escape from the heatwave. To be greeted by tea , coffee and biscuits is always a plus. This was surpassed by the 2 pots of "just add water porridge". I devoured this! The carbs were so welcome and such a thoughtful gesture. The bed was super comfy and I had a much needed great night's sleep as I prepared for day 2 in the saddle to Ayr , another 100 miles. For a small supplement Jason provided a generous portioned hearty full English breakfast, cereals, yoghurts and set me up perfectly for the long day ahead. My only regret was the flatbreads others speak of in their reviews were not available buy hey a reason to return! I made it to Ayr, for which I thanks Jason for his contribution and look forward for a reason to sample The Douglas Hotel again soon.

Pros:

The gentleman who were running The Douglas Hotel were beyond accommodating and helpful. My partner and I cycled into town during our C2C Cycle Challenge through the scottish borders and this hotel and town were our favourite. Breakfast was yummy and personalized.

Comfortable and friendly - good value for money.

I have a brief but great stay at the Douglas Hotel and really appreciate their hospitality.
Pros:

The hotel were extremely accommodating, allowing me to check in way beyond their usual check in hours which was really useful for me after such a long drive.

Fantastic location, amazing staff and delicious food.
Pros:

The staff were amazing, acomadating our bikes and making us feel very welcome. the home cooked food was delicious, both supper and breakfast.
Beds were really comfy, especially welcome after our cycle from Penrith to langholm.
