Old inn experience at the heart of Grassmere.
Pros:

Good location in the pretty village of Grasmere. Good for exploring the Lake District.
Large room (Silver How) with nice bathroom and comfortable bed.

Cons:

Parking challenging. Welcome wasn’t great. Room was hot and lots of noise on balcony from ventilation system. Balcony appearance also not as nice as photo. Food variety a bit limited.

The best family stay!
Pros:

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. The staff were very friendly, polite and welcoming throughout our visit. Breakfast was good and the meal menu was decent. We had dinner at the hotel on our first night, which was convenient and enjoyable.
The highlight for the kids was definitely the swimming pool, they enjoyed it the most!
Overall, we had a pleasant and relaxing stay and would be happy to visit again.

Good location, Pleasant, but overpriced and feeling of costcutting
Pros:

Great location

Cons:

Sorry this sounds like a moan but i hope it will be raken constructively- i use hotels a lot. Overall feeling that corners were being cut- i expected a ‘luxury’ quality stay but was underwhelmed by cleanliness ( black mould around shower seal, bath gel pots so tightly fixed - almost impossible to get product out, carpet not vacuumed around edges, sticky tops of bedside cabinets, hairdryer burning out). cooked breakfast meagre 1/2 plate-full, breakfast buffet grubby cloth over croissants, no tongs to pick up breads etc, obvious dirt all around sides and back of buffet benches, restaurant meals poorly cooked, tables dirty, not cleared, sticky menus, drain smells in room. Staff lovely and friendly.

Requires updating
Pros:

The breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice and very well organised

Cons:

Rooms were in need of a facelift... mould in shower. Carpets were grubby and needed a refresh as did paintwork and interior decor.

Very quaint village, lovely to sit out side the hotel with an evening drink.
Pros:

Breakfast was very good after a good night's sleep in an exultant room. Use of the swimming pool was much needed relax after a full day in the lake district. Thank you very much.

Cons:

View of the Sun Eclipse was sadly - rubbish.
