White Hart Hotel

Only used the white heart as a base did not eat or drink there so cannot comment on that, room was clean and comfortable enough, just what I wanted

Lovely Inn style rooms with very good food.
Be mindful that the stairs are quite steep and may not suit some.

Warm welcome, comfortable room with tea making facilities & toiletries in the en suite. Good spread for continental breakfast. A good place to stay, will visit again.

Used before has handy for family. It’s fine, breakfast isn’t good though- glad it was included not a separate charge.

Heating in room intermittent so very cold, bathroom electric radiator broken so room very cold, room very tired in need of re-decoration and make over. Room not made up. Pub staff very nice

A lovely hotel in the middle of wiveliscombe, everything is within walking distance. The staff were very accommodating.

The hotel was great realy... our only moan is the steep staircase to the second floor, where unfortunately for us was where our room was. We are both elderly. Other than that it was a lovely place with lovely staff and a great breakfast.

Wiveliscombe is a small town a few miles west of Taunton with a distinctly rural feel. The hotel is in the centre and has its own car park. The building is old and certainly characterful.
Our room was at the back, reached by a bit of a maze of stairs and passages (no lift but not a problem for us) and was clean, warm and well maintained. The bed seemed slightly hard. Both the room and en suite were a good size and the shower worked well.
Breakfast was a continental buffet with a reasonable variety of items on offer.
We had dinner in the hotel restaurant two nights. Food quality was very good but menu was limited. There is a pub over the road (the Bear) which serves food but we did not try it.
I liked the bar which served local ciders and beers.
Staff were pleasant and helpful.
We rode on the West Somerset (steam) railway, their Bishops Lydeard station is about a quarter of an hour’s easy drive away.
The White Hart is a nice alternative to chain hotels in the Taunton area

Advertised as having a restaurant with breakfast included. Not serving food and nowhere local to get a meal. There is a pub over the road but it was rammed and had no tables so went hungry. I arrived down for breakfast at 07:45 and it was still closed. Rooms where in very poor condition

Thought restaurant area was ok...continental breakfast ok but would be nice to have a cooked option. Room below par. Bed small and no mattress topper! Dusty under bed floor. Bathroom window had no blind so a little exposed when light on! Noise outside on saturday night terrible. Didnt sleep.

We eat very tasty steak for a dinner, it was so delicious 😋

Not disabled friendly

This is an old coaching inn, which should have rung a few bells! It was a bit like a rabbit warren - so many nooks & crannies! Our room was at the top of the house which involved climbing a lot of very steep stairs. Our room was adequate with a comfy bed, nice clean white sheets & towels. No hair dryer, but not the end of the world!

Old building which was very well decorated on the ground floor

room 3 was nice and clean and had everything that was needed .
The shower could have done with a bit more power but as it is an old place it is understandable.
The staff were excellent and friendly and the breakfast was a continental style and was very good indeed.

The rooms access is not locked as we had people come in banging on doors and shouting and swearing until about 01.30, cannot understand how they got into the rooms area of the building absolutely shocking and didn’t appreciate a few bangs on my door and language
