Great location, lovely staff and superb breakfast
Pros:

Good location close to the famous bridge. Staff were helpful and friendly, dinner was good and breakfast was superb.

Cons:

The hotel was very busy for dinner and could probably have done with more staff!
We were allocated a room in the adjoining former guest house - our room was rather dated and had a separate private bathroom (rather than en suite) - it therefore seemed a little expensive in comparison to other places we have stayed.

Limited room but outstanding breakfast.
Pros:

Breakfast was particulatly good:good quality ingredients, well cooked, cooked to order.

Single room was pokey, no control for the television, but clean.

Pros:

Cons:

Single room was basically a cupboard with no room for a chair. While it was stated bathroom was in corridor there is no running water at all in the room.

Charming hotel in a picturesque village
Pros:

The staff at Cairn Hotel couldn’t be better - they were all friendly and extremely helpful. The room was comfortable and clean and perfect for a night’s stay on the way north to do the NC500.

Cons:

It’s an old building, so it’s somewhat understandable, but the WiFi signal wasn’t the best - though the speeds were reasonable when you did get a good signal (30Mbit down which is better than a lot of hotels!).

Great Hotel, food outstanding
Pros:

The food was excellent, the accommodation was good and as expected, overall excellent experience and the staff were very good.

Cons:

Bit dated rooms, but kind of expect that.

Loved the place and will return, but felt it was a little expensive.
Pros:

The bar and food here were excellent. The breakfast was the best of our trip and the dinner was superb.

Cons:

The room was a bit cold and could have been warmer as the weather was poor during our stay.

Great spot for travellers

The location and breakfast.

Cons:

The staff were overrun at the evening meal which led to delays and some frustration. Staff themselves were helpful and working hard.
