Excellent room with good facilities
Slight road noise
Wasn't welcomed, had to grab a guys attention who was walking past with some plumbers. I was told at this point(no call or email to tell me there was a problem with my accommodation) that there was a problem with the boiler and the room i had booked had no heating or hot water.
I was told that the alternative room was better and that there was no charge for the upgrade.
Happy days I thought....
Entered the door into a shared kitchen area which was prior to my room door. I was met with muddy footprints, temperature was colder than outside, turned left to my accommodation door, internal door was white at some point but was now grubby /dirty fingerprints and foot marks. Opened the door and my first sight was a tatty chest of drawers which again was grubby and white paint was chipped from top to bottom down the side and corner. My first observation after this was the old people's home scent, and how cold/damp it felt in there. A quick check of the chest of drawers presented a used false fingernail, some used pins and a Costco receipt.
No hot water and in lieu of adequate heating, a tatty electric heater which at that point wasn't switched on to heat the room prior to our arrival.
So it was actually colder than the 8ish degrees outside.
The 4 poster bed was rickety/loosely assembled, dusty surfaces and part used tea/coffee/sugar packets by the kettle.
I immediately went and spoke to the guy who i had previously spoken to( as i understand he was just there to receive the plumbers and not actually an employee)
He spoke to the manager within seconds and offered me alternative accommodation up the road at a pub, or £20 off my payment to stay where i was. My mrs had already started putting our bags in the car so I politely decided and asked for a refund

We chose not to stay firstly due to the fact we were not given the room I had booked, backup room wasn't clean enough, and was freezing cold.

Inappropriate venue for family.
The owner was untruthful about the facilities. The carpets and interior were unclean. There was excessive cctv cameras inside the property. Generally the feeling of being unsafe
Liked the self check in option and room being warm upon arrival - nice touch.
Little tricky to locate if you'd not had the very helpful staff update before hand.
I had booked the bridal sweet .but Ross upgraded me to the family room in the cosy cottage it's such a lovely room with a kitchen area it was so nice just to relax. Thank you, Ross

On arrival, the manager was very friendly
Decor was falling off the walls, the room was dirty. The cup had hairs in it, the shower was dirty, the carpet was stained.
The manager had to arrange an oil filled radiator for the bedroom as the heating wasnt on, this didn't warm the bathroom.
There were no towels so the manager had to get some.
There was a kettle but no tea/coffee in the room, so had to make te in the communal kitchen, however the kitchen had no kettle.
The road curtains didnt cover the window fully and there was a lot of road noise..
It seemed like the owners decided they wanted to rent out rooms in an old house, and spent the minimum preparing them.
Wouldn't stay again.
The bed was reasonably comfortable, but the duvet was a poor fit.
The shower was brilliant.
I was only there for a short time, so nothing stood out as bad.

Access to good kitchen facilities.
Accepted single night stop over.
Good heating.
Some may find the main road a little noisy, but we weren't disturbed.
Be aware you have to go upstairs to access the private bathroom for a twin room.
Lovely clean stop in a peaceful location
A little out of the way for food and drink choices if you don’t want to drive - debt little pub with ok food in walking distance though
