Chainbridge Hotel is so attractive and has so many features to recommend it to others.
Pros:

The staff were so kind and helpful. I loved the breakfasts. The sound of the river outside my room was so calming.

Cons:

I didn't realize it was a really long distance from the center of town where my other friends were staying, and where my activites were held. I didn't have a car, so the walk was challenging some of the time. But actually, I would still have stayed at the Chainbridge Hotel, despite the distance.

One night stay with my daughter
Pros:

The location is incredible. So picturesque and right next to the river - absolutely wonderful. Staff at breakfast were really helpful and the seeded bread was really tasty! Beds were comfortable and room was pleasant enough.

Cons:

Better facilities in the room re tea and coffee wouldn't go amiss. A small fridge maybe, better fans, fresh milk and a better selection of teas and coffees. Also reception would benefit from longer hours to facilitate late arrivals and people who want to come back later, especially during Eisteddfod week. The stay was not particularly cheap and i felt that the service received, while there was nothing wrong with it as such, did not really reflect the price. Cooked breakfast was also a bit small in terms of portions, although it was tasty enough. Also the window in our room opened fully which did not feel particularly safe although it did provide a nice breeze on a hot night! Really difficult to put the key in the lock properly!

Lovely location but otherwise something of a nightmare
Pros:

I loved the location, and the balcony was a good size with a good view over the river. The breakfast was OK, a decent English breakfast and the coffee was really good. The bar and its terrace overlooking the river also very scenic.

Cons:

The room was rather small with nowhere to sit apart from the balcony or the bed. There was another chair but it only fitted by the desk because the room was so small. The car park was APPALLING, an extremely narrow road with no way to pass with the river on one side and the canal on the other, very few spaces, so dangerous. There was a turning area but even that was tiny. The worst part was the entrance to the car park which required manoeuvring over a small hump bridge and turning into the narrow car park, difficult at the best of times, and getting back out impossible to get traction for the steep turning climb with dangers on either side. It was so bad that we dared not take our car out of the car park the first day, and when we had to go, getting out was a nightmare because someone had parked so close to my car I couldn't even open the door to get into it, I had to ask someone else (someone very thin) to drive it part way out for me, then getting over the bridge took 3 attempts, I would never ever go near the place again, it was dreadful. It is in the middle of nowhere and when we arrived at 8 pm there was no way to get food, but we needed dinner having been driving for 7 hours - they said we could order a takeaway by phone BUT WE DONT EAT JUNK FOOD!!!!!!! So we effectively starved. I had a gig at the eisteddfod on our last night but the restaurant opened after I left to go there and closed at 7:30 before I got back and there was no room service. The hotel might be in a nice location, and the bar was good. But I felt trapped there because I couldn't come and go freely in my car. And don't even get me started on the heat in the room with no air conditioning, but if the window were open, the number of moths we had for company!!!

Lovely but depends on your expectations .
Pros:

Visited the area a couple of months ago and loved the location and the look of the hotel. The walk to Llangollen along the canal was lovely, took us about 40 minutes but it was very leisurely

Cons:

Our room was on the top floor facing the river . It is the sunny side and it was very very hot in the room and the balcony didn’t provide any freshness . The roof must have been very hot because it was hot in the room even during the night . The size of the room was rather small . Only bath in the bathroom , no separate shower . The price was high but probably because of the festival in Llangollen

Nice hotel for a short stay, but for the same price there are more modern and slightly more luxurious hotels near by.
Pros:

Location is great, sat on the banks of the River Dee, lovely views and just over a mile outside the town of Llangollen along the very level tow path.

Cons:

This is an old property with lots of history, with accommodation on the top two floors. There is no lift, so not really accessible for anyone who cannot negotiate flights of stairs. We were assigned a room on the top floor, which can get warm during hot weather due to the flat roof and no air conditioning. This is to be expected of an older building.

Enjoyable stay but improvement is needed for the property.
Pros:

The environment is beautiful. Nice staff. Very helpful.

Cons:

The ventilator in the bathroom not working. Need net curtains on windows to prevent mosquitoes, especially during summer time with heat wave. Easy to overlook the entrance if you drive to hotel. A reminder or hint to customers would be nice.

Although location cleanliness and staff excellent was an expensive night for this room.
Pros:

Beautiful local on the river bank.

Cons:

Room was on the canal side adjoining the room next door. Although their was a door between the rooms may as well not been we could here everything from the next room. Expensive stay for this room.

Pros:

LOVELY PLACE ONLY FEEDBACK THAT I WOULD GIVE IS THE HEATING IS REALLY HOT IN THE ROOM BUT ITS AN OLD BULDING AND OLD SYSTEM SO I TOTALLY GET IT, NOT A NEGATIVE JUST SOMETHING TO BE AWARE OF WHEN BOOKING. WILL STOP AGAIN, LOVELY (SLIGHTLY OLDER) LADY ON FRONT DESK WHEN WE ARRIVED, GREAT FRONT OF HOUSE
