Very comfortable, lovely staff and warm, relaxed atmosphere.
Pros:

We liked everything apart from: see below

Cons:

Scrambled eggs on sourdough toast. The toast was brittle and there was no butter on it or in the eggs. It was tasteless and dry.

Lovely spacious rooms and comfy bed.
Pros:

Rooms are spacious

Cons:

Room was very warm so had to leave window open, luckily there wasn’t much traffic on the near by road to disturb our sleep.Though we were woken at 6.45am with the bin lorry collecting the hotels glass bottles:-(

Overall my stay was great. I would definitely go back
Pros:

The staff were amazing. So friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much for them. They were knowledgeable and provided great service. The food at dinner was so good - hats off to the chef. My room had everything in it that I needed. The bed was super comfy and the shower was great

Cons:

The only thing I didn't like was the smell in the room when I arrived. Both the windows were open when I entered the room and the smell was still strong. The bathroom floor looks tired and stained

Generally very good
Pros:

Hotel was nicely appointed with a good ambiance. Staff were super.
Bed was very comfortable. Enjoyed the dinner.

Cons:

Lack of easy chairs. The bedroom was huge but bare. A couple of easy chairs and a coffee table would have made a vast improvement. There were no easy chairs anywhere down stairs when the five of us could gather together.

Great value room in this area
Pros:

The room / bed was comfortable , nice and warm on a very cold day. Our room was quiet even though above the restaurant area. Nice big shower ( would have preferred bath but not available for the basic room booked). Staff (particularly at reception) very helpful and friendly. Big cooked breakfast next day with unlimited tea/coffee.Bar area nice for an early evening drink before going out. Plenty of free parking. Although we did not eat here the restaurant looked busy and the menu extensive.Thought this was excellent value for money staying for a wedding nearby.

Cons:

Lighting was a little subdued even with all available
lights working. Would have preferred bath in room but only available for more expensive rooms that were already occupied. Did not spoil our stay at all and would certainly stay again when visiting this area.

Not bad
Pros:

Shower was good. Staff were friendly. Room was decent.

Cons:

Waited a short while both at check-in and checkout to be dealt with. Had to stand there without being acknowledged. After travelling you want to go straight to room but no one there to deal with us. A lot of noise outside room in morning. The checkout was 12 but way before that there was noise, possibly staff, bumping around and calling to each other in the corridor. The TV was large but not much on it other than basic channels. Windows opened but only so many inches and it had turned warm. Arrived in dark and not much signage outside to say where to go to check in.
