Very good breakfast. Fill in a little form and a posse of highly-efficient waitresses bring it along. Good ingredients, well-cooked and as much tea or coffee as you want.
Room clean and confortable if slightly basic. Good shower.
Hotel seems to cater for an elderly clientele, but quite a pleasant atmosphere.
One person's health and safety is another person's intrusion. Odd H & S notices scattered around the place. When you go out you have to leave your key at the desk, and when you come back in they ask your name before they'll give it you. Possibly some people find this reassuring; I found it wierd. To be fair, they stopped asking when they came to recognise me.
Prices fluctuate considerably.

We loved our room-it was more spacious than we anticipated, and very clean with everything that we needed. The management ensured that we had a room without steps leading up to it. We also had access to a lift. These things were important for my companion, who has mobility issues. It was great that they put oat milk sachets in our room as requested. The hotel was near all the amenities and places that we wanted to visit.
My companion has dietary intolerances which I mentioned when booking. There was a form to fill in about these at breakfast, but the tick boxes were not followed on Day 2 of our stay. This is a serious issue. I would recommend that other guests check and remind staff daily if they have specific dietary requirements. Maybe a different coloured form could be provided for those who have dietary intolerances, to make things clearer for breakfast staff. The staff that I interacted with were not always that helpful. Customer service seemed inconsistent and dependent on who was on shift at a given time.
The pictures and the room details I received were of a room with bath but when I pointed this out to reception they treated me like I was imbecile for thinking that and of course they couldn’t take pictures of every room I said but even the room details tick a shower and bath and they said well we are full up there are no other rooms. The curtains were to short for the window so sun right in the room from 5 am you had to hand your keys in every time you went out and the room was shabby staff just seemed to busy when I handed my key in to book out didn’t say good bye or thank you not worth the money it was only that the location was good that made it a good stay but I wouldn’t stay there again
As above
Clean and comfortable , great location
Staff were very friendly , rooms were a good size both thr double and single rooms that we had , place is like a maze which made a bit of laugh finding our rooms , both stairs and lift available, great location near everything , breakfast was good as you could pick exactly what you wanted and how many of each and served very quickly.
