Dated decor for a 4star advertised hotel. One day they didn’t have ingredients to make hollandaise sauce for breakfast, which wrote off most menu options

Bathroom far too hot
Fabulous location. Staff were exceptional especially the breakfast staff, in particular the young man who give us lots of stories on the history of the place. Great breakfast with amazing views. The river walk watching the rowers.

The Full English had a greasy/oily smell - plentiful but not the best flavour. Could have been hotter. Coffee a disappointment too as didn't taste good - switched to tea!
Bed was hard and duvet was a solid mass - something more fluffy would have been nice
Maybe someone on the reception would be better as we had to go looking each time we needed some assistance.
Also it would have been good to put charges on the room bill but understand the system did not allow.

Perfect stay for an ex oarsman! It was brilliant being back in Henley & soaking up the atmosphere in the Club. What can be better than waking up to a view of the Henley Regatta Course. Delightful staff, comfortable room & a good breakfast.

Location and history. My daughter was competing in Henley Long Distance Sculls the following day so the stay was perfect 👌.
I arrived at night due to delays and there was nobody to open for me I could not even check in and had to go back to London at 1 am
