Very brief but pleasant overnight stay.
Pros:

An attractive, pleasant location. Good breakfast and good bedrooms. Staff were charming. I had stayed a week and a half earlier with a Jaguar Club tour and enjoyed the hotel - for this reason I chose to stay again on my way up to Yorkshire for a classic car tour.

Cons:

Just a minor point, I had hoped to eat in the dining room but that night it was closed and everybody had to eat in the bar. I just happen to prefer a restaurant environment.

The staff were lovely the evening receptionist explained the history of the hotel An amazing story This hotel is a one off
Issy in the restaurant was great she spent time chatting to me in between her jobs made me feel very welcome

The hotel itself was nice, and the staff were friendly.
Pros:

I liked the decor in the room, it was fun and kitsch!

Cons:

The dinner food in the restaurant was extremely poor. We enjoyed the included breakfast, but we had dinner the night before and it was overpriced and really badly cooked.

Excellent. Beds were amazing.
Pros:

Breakfast was lovely, but a little limited. I happen to love a full English, so not a problem for me, but I could see it causing issues for someone else.

Cons:

The keys for the door were a bit fussy and while exceptionally well maintained and clean, it is on the brink of starting to look a little dated...doesn't quite qualify as "classic"

Fine for an overnight stop on our trip back home.
Pros:

Large comfortable bed
Ceiling fan and air conditioning
Good breakfast.

Cons:

We were a bit worried when we found out on arrival that there was a wedding reception that night - but in practice it wasn’t a problem.

Lovely authentic English hotel, great breakfast

Breakfast was very good

Cons:

There was a wedding at the venue the night we stayed, the wedding itself had no impact but people were leaving late into the night and talking loudly in the car park. Our room was right next to the car park so we could hear them while trying to sleep

Room had no windows and was connected to room where a wedding was taking place. Wasn't in informed about wedding until just over a week before our stay. Couldn't change rooms because hotel was fully booked.

Staff were great, restaurant is good but rooms ate very disappointing.
Pros:

Great restaurant, good breakfast and staff were really helpful.

Cons:

Terrible beds and Room 10 has no window just a skylight that can’t open. No one checks rooms, not very clean and no shampoo etc on Day 2. Had to ask for second towel (2 people in double room).
