Hadn't realised we were in the top room of the townhouse which could have been a problem if we were unable to manage the stairs. Not clear when I booked.
Only 1 small milk and no biscuits provided which was disappointing for the price.
Fantastic characterful hotel in the centre of Stamford. Great room (with a view); really nice restaurant; and very friendly, helpful staff - an ideal overnight stopover, just off the A1. Overall a brilliant experience

Couldn’t fault the hotel at all.
A great location to explore Stamford and the surrounding area. We were going to an event at Rutland Water so found the hotel to be a great choice. The food was very good and the service both efficient and cheerful (see below). The outdoor area is very pleasant, with lots of tables and chairs for drinks and food. all surrounded by flowers. The breakfast menu is extensive, although, some items come at an extra cost. The day menu has a good choice and can recommend the food.
As the weather was very hot air con would have been great, the room did have a ceiling fan which did help a bit. Sadly on our first breakfast for whatever reason the service speed was somewhat lacking. Apologies were offered. After that day service was as expected. Maybe I missed it but although the bathroom had a bath and a shower, the shower was part of the bath, not curtained off, meaning you had to sit in the bath to have a shower 😒. The bath is very deep and on feet so a bit of a struggle to get in and out. We were in room 3.
The hotel is clean and the staff are very good, the food was lovely, really couldn't knock it.This is our second visit and we will be going back again.Also ideal location.
