Everything about this place was extremely good from friendly staff, comfort, breakfast and evening meal.
It is hard to find something not to like about The Crown.
Breakfast menu was extensive and generous. Whole hotel was clean and service was efficient and friendly. Despite being right next to a busy bar and surrounded by a funfair the room was very quiet.
Lack of shelving in dry part of bathroom and no drawers in bedroom. Having to get up and out at 8am to renew car park ticket as hotel carpark was unavailable during fair weekend. Surely a special permit could have been negotiated with the council. Card only payments in bar and restaurant were slightly inconvenient without warning.
Great location in the heart of Stamford. The room was very comfortable and well designed, with many thoughtful ideas. The bathroom was luxury with beautiful toiletries and good quality towels. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Excellent breakfast with Al a Carte choices. Would definitely stay here again.

The room was so cold during the night we used our coats to keep us warm….. we could hear people shouting outside during the night the bed was uncomfortable and there was no extra bedding or pillows… the room was at the top of the building making it difficult for me to climb the stairs

Breakfast was excellent. Evening meal was very overpriced, very small fish with the chips. It was however well presented and the service was acceptable.
The room was very overpriced. Freddie requesting a room with no sloping ceilings twice... My room has sloping ceilings? Although it was immaculately clean and warm appointed for the money I expected a bigger room. In comparison to the George, the Bull and Swan and the Cecil all of which I have stayed at frequently this hotel is by far the most expensive.
