Fairway Hotel

We went there and the hotel was completely shut down since mid-july '25 (booked back in April when it was still open). Both locals and authorities confirmed that the owner was arrested and worst of all Booking.com was not aware of this! Ask for a refund as soon as possible

The hotel been shut for long time

I didn't like anything about the property when I got there it was totally locked up , and looked closed for a while , hotel had all phones turned off . Avoid at all costs

The premises was shut. Clearly the hotel is no longer operating. I called the hotel and got no response. The locals said the hotel has been shut for weeks.

Quite how it's still on booking.com I don't know.

I've contacted booking.com, unfortunately you have to go through their redress process which starts with having to send the hotel a message in the 1st instance, a complete waste of time Clearly. I'll see if I can contact booking.com directly. But the fact that this hotel is no longer Operating but not only are able to have a listing on booking.com but are also able to receive payments is nothing short of a scandal!!

We arrived at the front of the Hotel and it was visibly abandoned, tried to open the doors, call the number and sent messages but no one answered!
We asked to a local resident and he told us it has been closed since a while!
Booking.com is not able to refund and so the money went to them without any possibility of having them back!
Please do not live the same experience by booking here!

Check-in open until 11pm, no its not. The whole place was closed. No one answered the phone, couldn't even leave a voicemail. Travelled over 3hours to stay there and it was completely closed, having booked in advanced to avoid looking for somewhere last minute.

It was closed down indefinitely when we arrived with no notice given!!!!!!!

Hotel was closed down, no one there at all when I arrived, had to book another hotel in Whitburn, still waiting on refund

We were trying to checking, found an open door which we entered only to find the manager passed out in the bar, breathing but would not respond . Empty booze bottles all over, half eaten food about and laundry all over. Totally unsafe. No one else around. We had to call for emergency wellness check.

Booking was notified with no response. Once we arrived home booking responds with we can get ahold of property so told us to do it. I called booking and they still said we must contact property for refund. Booking will only give us 20 pounds unless we get hotel to tell booking to give full refund. How ridiculous!

Booking takes no responsibility for who they allow to advertise on their site they just take your money shame on you booking!
Please don’t book .
Mi asked booking to take this place off the site but I see it’s says sold out!

Didn't get in as closed would appreciate yous getting in touch with me as it's not letting me send u emails am trying this way to get ur attention had to pay out more money and not even refund from a hotel I didn't get in so plz remove this place

My booking was cancelled two days before I was due to stay. Alternative accommodation was booked for me, but Fairways did not pay the room as they had promised to do. When the new B&B went to Fairways to resolve the issue they found it closed up. I am now trying to get a refund from Fairways.

The Hotel was unresponsive and shut down. Please do not go here, it’s shut!!!!! Still awaiting on help from
