Great location next to Turf Tavern (but see below).

Cons:

Room was very noisy because of location right next to Turf Tavern - a mixed blessing. Thankfully, stopped at 11pm. TV Remote didn't work so had to go without TV. Bed was a little hard.

Characterful hotel very central in university

Excellent location. Heritage buildings. Secure car park worth a lot in central Oxford. Excellent breakfast.

A mixed bag.
Pros:

The location is 10/10, very much in the thick of it. Even though it's next to the Turf Tavern there's very little noise issues from this extremely busy 'best kept secret in Oxford.' Great pub though and well worth a visit.
Hotel staff are lovely, friendly and helpful, also 10/10
The room let the place down. Probably a 4/10. For the money it charges the location will only carry it so far. Our room was clean and warm but extremely dated decor, needs a complete refresh. Bathroom was in need of a full refit. Towels (though clean) need replacing as they were worn and greyish.

Don't get me wrong, we had a fab time and would most likely stay again but not automatically...we will look around because, for the money, the rooms need to be better. Much better.
Thanks to the staff for a lovely welcoming experience.
